“While working in the woods today, I broke the bar on my chainsaw and as I had so much cutting to do, I ran 20 miles to my local town and the two Stihl dealers and both did not have them in stock and even checking the factory inventory was saying out of stock. They suggested I run 17 miles south to the Lakeland General Store as a Stihl dealer and as I had time, what the heck, I ran down. Pulled in and the parking lot was jammed with over perhaps 40 cars and pick ups. The store inside looked so neat and clean and low and behold they had the chainsaw bar in stock and I bought the two they had. So now back in business. The restaurant was attached to the store and as close to lunchtime I got a burger and fries to go and it was excellent. I have to say tops for the whole area. The restaurant was full and a mix it seemed of Lake people, locals and workers on noon break. And specials everyday and the choices today sounded most intriguing. For sure I will have to put Lakeland on my to stop place as on Hwy 59 going from Detroit Lakes to Fergus Falls. A great clean store with great inventory. The amount of daily newspapers for sale was most impressive as a lot of places do not have them.So nice to have a local store and non chain so to speak. The service was great from the salesman to the waitress in the cafe. If in the area, the Lakeland would be a great stop. Jim from Maplelag in Minnesota”
