I had a basic education of proper betta care, and a HUGE fear of my daughter’s birthday fish becoming birthday trauma that same week. She heard those fears, responding in pure reassurance and education much to my appreciation. She helped me pick the tank, helped confirm soaking and rinsing the colored pebbles wouldn’t be an automatic death sentence, and helped me understand despite a tighter budget, if what I had in mind was doable or not like I had hoped.
I love a caring pet store worker, one who shows passion and education and is willing to share that aspect of themselves with others. She helped me choose whether a filter or heater was more imminent for the 24 hour wait (that I questioned if was even okay for the fish out of my pure fears) as well as helping educate me on the tank setup of the water levels! I told her of hard calcium to our well water, and she responded wonderfully to confirm it wouldn’t kill him with the proper cycle and water adjustments added (conditioner I believe) and even taught me the exact drop amount mid-aisle running the math in her head.
I’ve never felt so educated and yet understood in my hopes and goals, while also being told if it’s within reach or not. I expressed a budget, more budget within the few days, and she helped us make it happen! Here I am just about a week later to say he is happy, and absolutely thriving in his heated, and filtered 5.5 gallon tank! We plan to upgrade his size in future, and I think we’ll only ever be headed back there from now on. Maybe I’ll see the gal who helped us on 1/19/26 again, and I can happily report our bettas progress in hopes of learning more. Or perhaps I’ll learn my own to impress her? Either way. If I could compliment her anymore highly? I would. Get that girl the next raise or next position up, clearly she knows what she’s doing and has pure passion (hint hint petco I left the date of shopping on purpose-AFTERNOON TO BE EXACT!! lol)
Honorable mentions as well is the checkout woman from that evening. Her and my daughter had a wonderfully in depth conversation on the movie releases (and varieties) of how to train your dragon, including very happily sharing her favorites of their releases and my daughter comparing them to hers on the ride home. She truly clicked with her, proudly showing her fish and asking her to keep him safe while we shopped. She commented in the car “she kept my fishy right next to her, she really kept him safe when he’s right where she can see” and it made her feel happily comforted. She’s still grasping how delicate they are, and her major fear is him spilling out of his water, starting as soon as she selected him. Her actions alone was enough for my 5 year old to be beyond content knowing he’s safe.
She’s non-stop spoken on this store, and I agree easily saying it’s got the best options of any coming from Iowa area. Unless you want Minneapolis area shopping? They’re your place!

We have two, very active golden retrievers who love to be dirty/ get matted easily in their hind and behind their ears and she has done amazing both times. My dogs don’t make it easy, but you can tell she takes her time and it has been exceptional each time. Definitely recommend.

3515 Sarah Place Northwest, RochesterI've been so heartbroken from my pet's passing away, I haven't been able to write a review until now. 3 years 3 months and 1 day ago, my childhood cat, Grandpa, was severely declining and we took him in. He was nearly 20 years old and had been healthy until a few days before then. It was really hard seeing how much pain he was in and it was clear he didn't have much left in him. Throughout the entire process and procedure, Dr. Finkel was very compassionate and reassuring. He guided us through what to expect and what he was going to do. He let me hold Grandpa while he gave him the injections. Afterwards, he left the room and gave us time to grieve and leave when we felt ready. My grandma and mother still take their other two pets here, and they are always taken care of. After taking my own cat to a few other vets (I moved away from Rochester), I can confidently say this is the best vet clinic we've ever interacted with. Thank you guys for all you've done to take care of my family's pets.

The looks of this breed often instills fear or hesitation (hence why we left our previous vet), but we didn’t experience this at all here. Our sweet dog (with no prior aggressive behaviors) finally got the thorough exam he deserves! Dr. Anderson asked questions, gave recommendations and showed that she cared. Every staff member we engaged with was kind and thoughtful.

The staff is incredibly friendly and it doesn't take long for them to recognize both you and your pets. That makes me feel that much more comfortable bringing my pets there. All of my pets also aren't scared to go there, even my two cats, they feel comfortable with all the staff. The vets are very knowledgeable and listen to any concerns I have no matter how small they may be. They take every request seriously and explore all options until my pet feels 100% again. I can't recommend them enough! Their extended hours are also an incredible bonus.

They helped our kitties through the entire process of preparing for our move to Australia. It’s been a long, paperwork‑heavy journey, and the whole team has been consistently kind, patient, and excellent at what they do.
They also handled our two scaredy‑cats incredibly well — especially when they absolutely refused to take a pill. The staff stayed calm, gentle, and so reassuring throughout it all.

They're great about asking all the important questions at drop-off (how much/how often for feeding, medication needs, comfort with other dogs), and the price is absolutely impossible to beat. Most of all, I love knowing that Freckles gets to socialize with other dogs throughout the day in supervised, small-group settings, while still having access to her own space if she prefers. It helps make it a little easier to leave her knowing it's basically doggie sleepaway camp!

1016 7th Street Northwest, RochesterI’ve been buying Med City Hard Seltzers from Kinney Creek Brewery for the past couple of years, and they’re easily some of my favorites, especially the Root Beer and Grape flavors!
I recently reached out after getting a couple of batches that didn’t seem quite right. I wasn’t upset because I know mistakes happen, and everyone is human. I simply wanted to let them know so they could make sure others; especially someone trying them for the first time, had the same great experience I’ve had over the years!
I wasn’t expecting anything in return, which is why their response meant so much. They went completely above and beyond by personally delivering a thoughtful goodie bag to my front door. While the gift was incredibly kind, what stood out the most was their character. They didn’t have to do any of that. It simply showed how much they genuinely care about their customers and the quality of what they create.
Their response only reinforced why I’ve continued supporting them over the years. It’s refreshing to see a local business that stands behind its products, values its customers, and takes pride in what they do. Customer service like this is rare, and it’s the kind of business our community should be proud to support.

The atmosphere is eclectic indoors and peaceful outdoors. When busy parking can be tricky but they do have a second area for parking by the bottle shop. The staff are attentive and friendly. I've enjoyed going to Forager after work with coworkers, family dinner, and date nights. I also enjoy listening to local music here, inside and out!
