I had a basic education of proper betta care, and a HUGE fear of my daughter’s birthday fish becoming birthday trauma that same week. She heard those fears, responding in pure reassurance and education much to my appreciation. She helped me pick the tank, helped confirm soaking and rinsing the colored pebbles wouldn’t be an automatic death sentence, and helped me understand despite a tighter budget, if what I had in mind was doable or not like I had hoped.
I love a caring pet store worker, one who shows passion and education and is willing to share that aspect of themselves with others. She helped me choose whether a filter or heater was more imminent for the 24 hour wait (that I questioned if was even okay for the fish out of my pure fears) as well as helping educate me on the tank setup of the water levels! I told her of hard calcium to our well water, and she responded wonderfully to confirm it wouldn’t kill him with the proper cycle and water adjustments added (conditioner I believe) and even taught me the exact drop amount mid-aisle running the math in her head.
I’ve never felt so educated and yet understood in my hopes and goals, while also being told if it’s within reach or not. I expressed a budget, more budget within the few days, and she helped us make it happen! Here I am just about a week later to say he is happy, and absolutely thriving in his heated, and filtered 5.5 gallon tank! We plan to upgrade his size in future, and I think we’ll only ever be headed back there from now on. Maybe I’ll see the gal who helped us on 1/19/26 again, and I can happily report our bettas progress in hopes of learning more. Or perhaps I’ll learn my own to impress her? Either way. If I could compliment her anymore highly? I would. Get that girl the next raise or next position up, clearly she knows what she’s doing and has pure passion (hint hint petco I left the date of shopping on purpose-AFTERNOON TO BE EXACT!! lol)
Honorable mentions as well is the checkout woman from that evening. Her and my daughter had a wonderfully in depth conversation on the movie releases (and varieties) of how to train your dragon, including very happily sharing her favorites of their releases and my daughter comparing them to hers on the ride home. She truly clicked with her, proudly showing her fish and asking her to keep him safe while we shopped. She commented in the car “she kept my fishy right next to her, she really kept him safe when he’s right where she can see” and it made her feel happily comforted. She’s still grasping how delicate they are, and her major fear is him spilling out of his water, starting as soon as she selected him. Her actions alone was enough for my 5 year old to be beyond content knowing he’s safe.
She’s non-stop spoken on this store, and I agree easily saying it’s got the best options of any coming from Iowa area. Unless you want Minneapolis area shopping? They’re your place!

We have two, very active golden retrievers who love to be dirty/ get matted easily in their hind and behind their ears and she has done amazing both times. My dogs don’t make it easy, but you can tell she takes her time and it has been exceptional each time. Definitely recommend.

The staff is incredibly friendly and it doesn't take long for them to recognize both you and your pets. That makes me feel that much more comfortable bringing my pets there. All of my pets also aren't scared to go there, even my two cats, they feel comfortable with all the staff. The vets are very knowledgeable and listen to any concerns I have no matter how small they may be. They take every request seriously and explore all options until my pet feels 100% again. I can't recommend them enough! Their extended hours are also an incredible bonus.

Jeff came immediately the next day (wow) and to top it not only resolved all the issues for me but helped me install what was initially just a back yard invisible fence into a full yard fence. So grateful I had them come and check as I never could have solved myself but now it’s up and running and working great!
So helpful with tips for how to set it up, new ideas and recommendations for how they would set it up, and cheap rates. 10/10 recommend.

I love their Bahn mi sandwich, BLT sandwich, bagel sandwiches, donuts, and Almond Joy mocha. All their food is vegan except they do have some non-vegan donuts that are labeled. They do also offer dairy milk as an option but the Almond Joy mocha has a default milk of chocolate almond milk. They have seating upstairs and outside around back if seating is full on the main level. The indoor seating can’t accommodate large groups. I usually like to eat outside if the weather is nice since they keep the AC so low that it’s usually freezing inside although maybe it’s warmer upstairs. Their bathroom is worth a visit since the wallpaper is so cool! Free street parking is available

There is a large indoor area with tvs and a covered outdoor area. When we were there, there was also a BBQ food truck that went well with the patio and beer! Stop by and enjoy a flight!

1016 7th St NW, RochesterI’ve been buying Med City Hard Seltzers from Kinney Creek Brewery for the past couple of years, and they’re easily some of my favorites, especially the Root Beer and Grape flavors!
I recently reached out after getting a couple of batches that didn’t seem quite right. I wasn’t upset because I know mistakes happen, and everyone is human. I simply wanted to let them know so they could make sure others; especially someone trying them for the first time, had the same great experience I’ve had over the years!
I wasn’t expecting anything in return, which is why their response meant so much. They went completely above and beyond by personally delivering a thoughtful goodie bag to my front door. While the gift was incredibly kind, what stood out the most was their character. They didn’t have to do any of that. It simply showed how much they genuinely care about their customers and the quality of what they create.
Their response only reinforced why I’ve continued supporting them over the years. It’s refreshing to see a local business that stands behind its products, values its customers, and takes pride in what they do. Customer service like this is rare, and it’s the kind of business our community should be proud to support.

Their teas have caffeine but don't make you crash a couple hours after, which is a big plus!
