I stayed here as I had appointments at Mayo and did not want to drive during a snow storm. The female who checked me in was not customer centric at all, pretty rude but I let it slide as I just wanted to get to the room. The room was decent, not necessarily worth the price, even for the discount.

3/25/2024 visit - Stayed one night before a medical procedure that required specific prep. Hotel is directly across from Mayo Clinic and I have been staying there for almost 28 years! This visit was different. The room- 494 - was a king bed as booked but there was no hot water in the shower! Literally no hot water dial! I didn't check the bathroom other than to find the light and by the time I used the facilities behind the door was the shock. How can they even have this as an available room? Unfortunately I was alone, had started my medical prep an hour before using the bathroom and could not change rooms - I didn't ask because I physically could not exit the room. In the morning I reported this to the front desk who could not have cared less. I should add that only 1 person was at the desk and she looked quite ill herself. She made a note, I asked for a comment card she offered nothing and said. We will email you a receipt. Please DO NOT stay here. What once was a beautiful, warm and convenient hotel is now simply convenient. There are other equally convenient hotels that have cold and hot water.Nearby activities: Mayo Clinic

Had to go to Mayo so chose this hotel. Went to the room and it wasn’t cleaned. Beds not made. Towels on floor and poop in the toilet. Front desk argued with me. They thought room had been cleaned. Was given new room. The pool access is through suite hallways on top floor. Odd. The pool was cold. The hot tub was filthy. Parking is very tight in lot. The room was ok but the whole building is cramped. Do not recommend.

This place is such a joke. I’m a local, if you’re coming here for Mayo, don’t fall for the trap of staying here for convenience or proximity. Rochester is so accessible and there are much better places to stay.

We had not stayed at this hotel before, no warm welcome-rather I was tossed a stack of papers to “take one” and read. Room was over heated and you can’t control heat-be careful there are no screens on windows. After swimming, turned the water on for the bath and the water was brown, turned yellow and green after running the water for 20 minutes. My husband took this issue to the front desk & was told they could take care of parking for our stay but nothing else they could do for the night-never offered a new room. The girl told us a manager will be in by 9am the next day. That same night,10pm packed up our family to find a shower off the hotel property. After a horrible night of packing, unpacking & buying clean water to brush teeth, we had to wait to speak with management until 9am the next day. To later find out that management was not in until 11am. And since we had booked through Expedia the girl told us to contact Expedia. Mind you no one or maintenance came to look at the problem. Expedia would not help us with this issue either. We had a two night stayed booked, packed up & went home to be told “there is nothing they can do”. We had paid for a product & could not use all of the amenities it had offered and was not offered another option. We are out money, our vacation, and pissed of kids. I would never stay here again due to the failed customer service, lack of amenities that a hotel offers, and taking our money.Rooms: Disgusting rooms- trash all over, hair all over the sink from someone shaving, tub had rust rings/any part of metal. and WATER WAS BROWN, YELLOW AND GREEN. (Did not get pictures of water right away, but it looked like liquid poop coming out of the bath tub faucet) And was told by the front desk “there is nothing they can do”. Never was given an option to switch a room the night of the situation. Over heated room, can not control the heat. And no screens on the windows.

Do Not Stay Here!! You have been warned. Our room never got below 82 degrees. They told me parking was $16 per day and they charged me $24 per day. The refig froze all our leftovers. No housekeeping services. Our bathtub was dirty with hair in the sink. Basically the worst hotel experience you could imagine. Plus we were here for a Mayo visit, very stressful. Please stay anywhere else in Rochester, you will thank me.

The hotel staff are a little blunt when checking in, not really welcoming when we first checked in. The room was fairly clean, the TV in our room had either bad cable connection or was in need of repair as it had static lines running vertically across the screen, the bed was kind of on the hard side, and the pillows were very small and lacking support. The pool was great, once we figured out how to get there(had to call the front desk for directions). The parking ramp is a little awkward, as you have to push a button and let someone know your room number and last name to enter and leave(this gets kind of annoying after coming and going a few times).

We got here and our room did not have air conditioning, I feel like that is something they should have told us upon check in but they didn't. Tried calling to front desk and no one would pick up. We went downstairs and asked Abdi if they could send us a fan and he said they would. Over 2 hours later and still no fan so we asked if we could change to a room with air conditioning. He switched us to a room which he told us was just down the hall. We tried it and the keys were not working. Went downstairs again only to find out that he had actually put us 4 floors down from where we were. We finally get to the room and it is significantly smaller than the one we previously had and the view was significantly worse as well. By this point I was too tired to fight it as it had already taken us an hour to switch rooms from the beginning. I would not recommend staying here.

Please believe me. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE. Everything from making a reservation to the gross parking ramp to the room being over 80° and the temperature being uncontrollable. A staff member actually opened my door with a metal key then turned around and walked out....UNREAL. I called the front desk with concerns and was told the room was non-refundable and the guy literally muttered "Hey sorry Man"...I was in my room for less then an hour and I left, I literally walked out got back in my vehicle and left the property. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE. If you don't believe me just read other reviews. I wish I had before I made a reservation.

Great location, just across the street from the Gonda building at Mayo. However, the room was very hot when we arrived. I tried turning on the air conditioning however, no air was flowing. I called the front desk and they sent up maintenance staff and he said the damper was closed. So he opened it slightly and said that was the best he could do otherwise the other rooms next door would get hot. After he left, nothing changed, it was difficult to sleep in the hot room. Also the beds are so small, not big enough for 2 people. And the parking ramp is a block and half away from the hotel at $16 per day. I had to park my vehicle at 1030 pm and walk back to the hotel in the dark. I paid $250 for one night. I booked the room on the website. The front desk said in order to get the mayo discount you have to call and book the room with them directly. ?

Room was advertised as a single queen, bed was only a double. Front desk was rude when I called to discuss...solutiin was that I could talk to the manager on duty the next day. If I wanted a different room I would need to pay extra for it. The room temp was 77 even though the Thermostat on the wall was set for 60 degrees, it never got cooler in there. Hot water lasted for first 3 minutes of the shower at 5:30 am. Not impressed, likely will not stay there again.Walkability: Very convenient for Mayo Clinic appointments.

Checked in at 3pm.Suddenly at 8:30pm while I'm asleep someone is trying to break into my room. It's the manager and a maintenance guy. When I get to the door which I had bolted they had opened it. This clown who I assume is the manager who by the way was the same person who checked me in, is yelling "you're in the wrong room, and you have to leave". I've got an electronic card key he gave me. I've been in my room since 3pm.Makes me get dressed and go down to the front desk and treats me like Public Enemy #1. I follow him to front desk when he looks at his computer and say he made a mistake. He issued my room to a family by mistake. He said he was sorry I went back to the room and went back to sleep. 45 minutes later that family comes knocking on my door wanting their room. Worst hotel I've ever stayed at. I'm here visiting the Mayo Clinic. The travel people told me that they stopped recommending the Kahler a while ago. It used to be their go to hotel but not anymore. I know why now. In addition the toilets don't flush.Walkability: Accessible to Mayo

It's a quaint hotel room. Good location. However, I let the front desk that my room (7th floor) was very warm and that the air conditioning/circulation fan was not working properly. I was informed that maintenance would be notified. For two nights the room was 75 degrees, which is far too warm for a comfortable nights rest. When I opened up the room door, there was a clear temperature difference between the hallway and the room temperature. I checked into the matter for a second time. The front desk confirmed that maintenance was notified. Never offered apology or option to relocate me. At checkout when I mentioned the situation again, I was told that my room was booked through Expedia (I used a company travel agency, Egencia), so nothing could be done. I should have read more reviews to learn of their ongoing AC issues. Too bad they don’t care enough for their customers fix the issues or offer an amicable resolution. Disappointing experience.

Horrible experience. Had an early appointment and returned to all of my items removed from my room by house keeping. I called the front desk and waited for my items to be returned only to find one of my prescriptions was missing. I waited hours to speak to the manager hoping to find it with no luck.DON’t stay at this hotel if you don’t want others going through your things and losing your belongings.

Remember to use HoteITully.ᴄᴏm when booking your resort. This website will compare thousands of booking web sites and normally will have rates a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later! This resort is one of the most well known in the area. I have been staying here for years. If you stay for a few nights you definitely won't regret it.Friendly staff check in no problems. Our first room had issues so we went to the desk and the happily gave us another room. We usually stay there because of the ability to walk across the street to Mayo Clinic.
