“I brought my bike in to have the hydraulic disc brakes looked at. Another bike shop had recently "serviced" my brakes, but the braking power didn't feel right after a couple visits for "adjustments" to the brakes, so I brought the bike into Bicycle Chain for a second opinion. I talked to Matt, who explained to me what the problems might be and that he would take a look at it. He seemed extremely knowledgeable and helpful, so I left the bike with him to troubleshoot the issue. He emailed me later that day to let me know that the bike was ready to go. I thought that was amazing given that my "regular" shop usually took a few days to fix something, and that was after I had made an appointment days in advance. When I came by the shop to pick up my bike, Matt explained to me what he did to fix the issue. I tested the brakes and was very happy and amazed by the results. The brakes felt better than they did when I bought the bike 3 years ago!! I VERY HIGHLY recommend the Bicycle Chain for service. Matt and the rest of the staff are extremely knowledgeable and VERY helpful. Bicycle Chain will definitely be my "go-to" shop in the future. I don't care that it's twice as far away. Thanks again, Matt and the Bicycle Chain staff, for an incredible bike shop experience.”

“Vanessa was amazing, as she took the time to try on a number of ski boots with me. She helped me in determining which fit the best, and fit best in my price range. I really appreciated her attention and the help I got in picking out my new ski boots.”

“This is the last twin cities bike shop you’ll need to find. Within these walls you’ll find the absolute best people, with the most knowledge, and the most approachability of anyone in town. I’ve had the pleasure of a few different projects through Tangletown and I have nothing but stellar things to say about every aspect of the builds. This is true for my wife as well, where she was treated with nothing but respect and the genuine desire to help her prepare for a duathlon. Whether it’s a new bike, service, a rental for the day, or parts and accessories, or bike bags - check ‘em out! They’ve got you covered. You won’t regret it.”

“I live in Ohio and ordered some parts online (which has never been a big deal), but the parcel arrived promptly with some freebie stickers and coffee beans inside. Without even interacting with anyone, I can feel the care put into that box. Love abounds at Angry Catfish and I am a huge fan.”

“I do a ton of bike riding. 112,000 miles since I started keeping track and 45,000 miles in the last four years. I go through tires like crazy. In May of 2020, I had already had three flats for the year and not liking inconvenience, I looked for a solution.I asked the owner to put on some really good tires, tubes, and a puncture resistant liner. I specified the liner could not be metal because I had heard they can cut tubes. He installed Continental tires, new tubes, and some kind of a fabric puncture resistant liner. I have almost 11,000 flat-free miles on those tires (I have six bikes), and it looks like they have a few thousand miles left in them. That is crazy for a bike tire. I have gotten as few as 4-5000 miles on some brands. The owner's choice of products and his install have taken a lot of the grief out of biking. I shall return if these ever wear out.Edit: Aug2023 - I'm am finally taking the bike in today for major servicing, including new tires/tubes/puncture resistant liner. The tires have over 16,000 miles on them without a flat. The front tire has more miles left, but the rear tire has minimal tread. I hope the owner can replicate what he did last time.”

“NOW is a candy store for cyclists. They have the high end bikes, equipment and expertise that most area bike shops lack. I’ve bought two bikes from them and have to be careful with my credit card whenever I walk in. The sales and maintenance staff is excellent and very friendly. And, I really trust their knowledge.”

“Ski tuning service was great. Really appreciate that they looked over the skis and didn’t upsell me on unnecessary services. That creates loyalty and is a big reason why I’ll be returning.”

“One on One absolutely rocks. Old school bike loving mentality from people that are super cool and super knowledgeable. Every interaction I've ever had with them has been great. They don't try to hard sell anything, they're very honest about what work needs to be done. They're very communicative. They really just want you to love riding your bike. I've been to and worked at plenty of shops and One on One is top notch.”

“Very happy with this bike shop which mostly I visit for once or twice a year I catch a nail and need a tube change. The last experience was great with such quick service on a Saturday and charged me less than $12, which is ridiculously cheap compared to other brick-and-mortar shops in St Paul.”

“Very helpful and friendly staff. Sam was a great person to talk to and get advice from. Definitely recommend them to anyone who is into biking or getting into it. They might have been the only store in town that had a part I needed/wanted. Was worth every minute I was there!!”

“The staff was very friendly and patient, the store was tidy and well put-together. I had no trouble getting my tires checked in with Eli and they were done quick. I've been at another location and I love this bike shop.”

“The store manager and another associate took the time to find the perfect bike and answer all my questions. They even put a reflector on the frame of the bike instead of the seat pole so that my seat could go lower. They picked out the best color and helped get it ordered. Pick up was wonderful too. They put the kickstand on when I decided I wanted one when I picked it up. They also mounted the bike lock I purchased when I picked it up. All around the store on Lyndale ave MN is the best store. I had went to 3 other stores and none of them compare to the one on Lyndale ave in MN. Overall they were very patient and willing to work with me to find the perfect bike.”

“One of the folks frequently in the shop there - Ryan maybe? - is always happy to field my questions and not make me feel like a bother or an idiot. He is the primary reason I go to Dinkytown Eric’s for service on my bikes and boards. Makes a big difference!”

“I had a very positive experience with CARS Bike Shop. I took my bike to them based on their Google reviews and proximity to my home. They performed a tuneup on my 1993 Trek 700. I am quite satisfied with the service and the price I received. I will go to them again with my bike needs. They offer fair prices, and down-home, local ownership.”
