“I’m not one to review many things, and when I do it’s truly for some place special. I credit Timberwolf CrossFit for helping me get my quality of life back I trusted and true ways! I started in December and was on several blood pressure medications, and the future felt bleak. After finding some consistency at Timberwolf, my blood pressure is in the normal range after trying all the things! My weight is down 30lbs. And my anxiety is feeling better. I attribute it to the caring community that is Timberwolf. The friendly coaches that care about your goals and successes, the other members that cheer you on as you finish a hard workout. It truly is a gym like no other.”

“A tremendous workout, great variety, lots of sweating! Orange theory nails it. For those who like running, rowing, and getting some weights in this is a great fit. A well-rounded workout. Not a second is wasted, high-energy.”

“We hosted our 7 year olds birthday party here. It was a great experience! The kids stayed active the entire time. The coaches made sure to include the parents who wanted to participate.”

“Love this kickboxing-classes gym with great music during their classes! Very beginner friendly. This is the location on Selby Ave in St Paul, and it is so much fun! Every other day is weightlifting classes, and included with the membership is nutrition coaching. Incredibly positive coaches with so much experience. Classes are available Monday-Saturday in the mornings and in the late afternoon/evening. Online classes are also available. Weightlifting is with dumbbells and exercise bands, which promotes great results. No direct sparring (whew!) but rather, you often pair up and share a punching bag (often one person is punching/kicking while the other person does body-weight exercises). Lots of diversity in the classes: Black, white, hIspanic, LGBTQ+, all ages, teachers, nurses, social workers, electricians, overweight, fit…and they are incredibly open to newbies—don’t think that you have to be an amazing expert to start here. :-) They often have specials where you can get the first week free to try it out! They often have 10-week challenges (one person at the location wins $1000!) but you can join in at any time. Most people don’t wait for a challenge to start classes, they just start coming, and then join a challenge when one comes up (about four times a year). Classes are “gamified” in a really fun way that I’ve never seen before, there is email (and Facebook group) support, and everything is done to make the classes as effective, safe, fun, and supportive as possible. Wow!That’s me in the picture. You can’t really tell in the photo, but I’ve lost my Covid-gut in the 2 months I’ve been going! It’s been incredibly good for my mental health, which in turn helps me be not only more effective at work, but also be a more patient and positive family member.”

“Dropped in today; first time at this CrossFit box. Excellent facility, incredibly friendly and knowledgeable coaches, and nice people. Plenty of equipment and the gym is clean and tidy. I’ve a bit out of shape and needed to scale the hell out of the workout; coaches were supportive and kind. Highly recommended. I’ll be back!”

“If you've ever wanted to try Crossfit, but you have been too intimidated, look no further than the Power House! This isn't your typical crossfit gym (dirty warehouse, grunting with shirts off, etc). The classes are small and extremely approachable. The coaches are excellent and will help you modify the workout to meet your abilities. They also offer olympic lifting, yoga, mobility, and personal training. Above all, the community is super kind, welcoming, and inclusive!”

“Shout out to Zack for being available for questions! This tucked away gym was surprisingly spacious with a variety of equipment. The showers were some of the only really handicapable I've seen with decent pressure. ?This is also the only gym I've seen with a tanning bed, according to staff "I believe that's for home gym members only, though if you speak to the manager that might be able to arranged."This gym is proof you can put an Anytime, anyplace.”

“Owners are extremely nice, gym is extremely clean (even in the winter), and they keep adding new unique machines instead of just filling the empty space with cardio machines.”

“I love group fitness, and have attended thousands of classes at dozens of studios with many instructors over the last 20+ years, and Tanya has stood out as my favorite.  I took Pilates with her for about 5 years before she opened her own studio -- Bodyshop.  This one-stop Bodyshop is a dream come true, with a huge variety of classes, workouts, and equipment.  You get the kind of individual attention as from a personal trainer, but in a more affordable and approachable setting.  Tanya has continuously pushed and challenged me while maintaining a light-hearted and fun atmosphere.  Check out this woman-owned independent business.  No matter your fitness level, you will get a great workout and you won't regret it!”

“They consistently motivate you and give positive shout outs in class. Orangetheory workouts are built to get your heart rate up without even thinking about it. Everyday is different and you never will be bored here! I never have felt so confident when working out or felt like I belonged, but at OTF Grand Ave, it feels like home.”

“Check out this local small business gym, lots of variety, classes, boxing, pre-loaded workout screens (varies day to day) or do your own thing. The classes Ive tried have been great, high energy and positive...smaller gym but has all the needed equipment and I feel that gets you more personal assistance from trainers”

“I just transferred membership here. It’s been a month & I like everything about this gym. Cleanliness is keenly maintained throughout, equipment is great, Cable TV , staff with great reception. So far so good.”

“Have come to really love this gym. It's a smaller facility, but the equipment is wisely selected - plenty of cardio equipment and all the weight equipment you need to do some solid training.”

“Love the place because I don’t have to worry about parking but I can’t find everything for weight training. But the pool is pretty big and nice and also have a great running trail.”

“We saw the Festival of Christmas again this year - our fifth year - and it was absolutely outstanding as usual. The handbell choir provided a beautiful welcome to the concert and set the mood for the Festival. Each year the music department, student musicians, student performers, and the tech crew outdo themselves with stunning performances. The lighting, set design, choice of music - all was stunning!”

“I enjoying working out here. There are bottlenecks waiting for equipment. Only one stair master. The steam room and sauna are excellent. The YMCA is kept clean.”

“We like SNAP! My family has been going here a couple times a week for a few months now, and we find it to be clean, sleepy enough that we can access the equipment we want easily within a session, and we're able to meet our fitness goals. It feels great to watch yourself get stronger week over week. The staff is friendly. They have a few reasonable rules that we have no problem following (bring a clean change of shoes, don't let the weights crash down, clean your sweat off--seemingly standard stuff). It's an excellent value if you get a couple or family discount--go in during business hours and they'll set that up for you.”

“It's fine. Parking kinda sucks. The dude behind the desk was super chill and nice. Equipment a little old and a couple of the machines with screens doesn't work. Not bad got my workout”

“My lifetime experience was fantastic! But I still don’t know what happened to Mary. The equipment fits perfectly in this facility, not packed in at all and plenty of variety. I also found plenty of water fountains to complete my hydration needs! Bonus points for having a Wells Fargo in the building.”

“A lot of bad reviews for this place and I don’t know why. It’s a good gym. Been going for 3 months. If you want a good gym to take your fitness goals seriously it has everything you need. Locker rooms are clean, staff is fine, equipment is great. Say hi to me I’ll be in the dumbbells section. Peace.”

3.9 Good59 Reviews

“I love the facility. I can come whenever I have time get a workout in sweat hard shower up and leave feeling brand new without the trip home. Just bring my hygiene bag and I'm ready for the day”

3.8 Good71 Reviews

“Needed a Gym nearby that was reasonably priced and I think I've found it. The equipment and facilities seem great. Only negative comment so far is the spray and paper towel system they have for wiping down equipment. Wet wipes are better.”

3.5 Good29 Reviews

“Diverse population; Good equipment; I like the walking track overlooking the pool. Locker rooms are adequate. Pool and vortex is great. There aren’t very many staff available to show you how to work the machines. That would be my only complaint. We use this Y as our main facility and Shoreview when we have our nephews, so we can use the outdoor pool.”
