They're very competent in terms of understanding cars and the customer. They diagnosed the issue correctly, presented the repair options correctly, and fixed the problem correctly in a timely fashion for a reasonable price.

“The A/C stopped working on our 2007 Prius. The dealer was going to charge a large sum just to diagnose the problem. I called Homestead and spoke with Stephen. He said they would look at it and see if there might be a reasonable fix. He knew going in that it was leaking. Two hours later he called with the welcome news that it was fixed and cost less than half of the dealer’s diagnostic fee. We were lucky with what the problem was, of course, but finding someone who would charge a reasonable amount to figure out the problem, and then fix just what needed to be fixed is a big plus for us. Honesty and quality work are very much appreciated.”

“We made a last-minute decision to take our 2011 van on a several-day visit out-of-town, but it needed quite bit of deferred maintenence work completed on very short notice. TGK Maplewood Manager Evan was great to work with as he committed to getting it done on time (even earlier!) for us. Even with a big storm that knocked out their power for some hours, they got it all done, and done well. We feel so much better now taking our preferred vehicle on this trip. “We bought tires from Discount Tire in Wisconsin. When it was time for the 5000 mile tire inspection, we took it in.
Super easy! We pulled up to the tire inspection stall and we were in and done in 10 minutes.
They let you know about your tire pressure and ware. We were good to go.

“Been going to Zaks for about a couple of years now and my choice for them to do my service has only increased. They’re very knowledgeable and skillful mechanics. Above all they’re very pleasant to do business with and will go out of their way to help you. Recently my daughter’s Honda Passport had an interior water leak as a result of a plugged AC drip tube. They got it in the next morning and were also able to squeeze an oil change that day even though they were busy. I refer people to them without any hesitance.”

“I had recently “rescued” a Lexus ls430 from Facebook marketplace. It was in bad shape all around but the cheapo tires the previous owner had installed absolutely murdered the cars signature smooth and quiet ride. I am very particular about who works on my cars, usually either opting to do it myself or hire a friend who works out of his garage that was a former Lexus master technician. When it came to getting new tires I really wanted to avoid any chain tire business as they will hire anyone that’s got enough fingers to hold an air gun, and wanted to avoid getting taxed out the wazoo by the stealership. I found these guys and they were able to order the tires I wanted and had them there the next day. I had scheduled an appointment but got a surprise day off and called to see if they could squeeze me in today instead. They said drop by any time and I was in and out in just over an hour. It had been exactly what I was looking for, good prices on tires, knowledgeable mechanics, and peace of mind that my money was actually going to help a small business owner and his family, and not to buy the Walmart ceos 4th mega yacht.

“Jerry and the team have been taking care of my vehicles for 4 years. My dad was told by a dealership that he needed a $4000 repair on his Traverse. He brought it in to Maplewood Auto Service yesterday and they told him there was a minor leak in a seal. The repair the dealership wanted to do was not necessary and was not even the cause of the leak. Having an honest, trustworthy mechanic is hard to find. This is the place! Thank you Jerry!!!”
