Northern Rail Traincar Inn is a very unique, quirky, and charming gem of a hotel, built out of authentic boxcars with original ceilings. It is a rustic and fun spot in a beautiful, secluded, and quiet area, close to Two Harbors. The rooms are surprisingly spacious, not lacking, and pretty affordable with a fair price. The property itself is gorgeous. Guests note the friendly and great management who put their hearts into the care of the inn. Amenities include a free breakfast, over 1,000 DVDs with players in each room, tons of board games, and actual keys. Some points noted are a musty smell, firm beds, small TVs, and limited cell service requiring WiFi. Overall, it is a perfect, amazing place to stay instead of a modern resort.
This is such a unique and special place! Jeff & Cyndi are such gracious hosts; the level of detail and care is very apparent. Our room was spacious, quiet and comfortable. It also doesn't hurt that they're right around the corner from Betty's Pies 😉 We very much enjoyed our stay, thank you!

What a fun place to stay. The staff truly care about your experiences with them and the great free amenities are a welcome change. Skip the motel pits and have an off the rails time with your loved ones. 6☆ recomended.
