“On the day we went in to get our tires installed they were short handed and behind schedule. We had 2 vehicles done and were there 5 hours. We had purchased a wrong set and had to return them, and the manager didn't care much at all, and didn't do anything about it. At this moment you may wonder why I rated so high. That's because of Heather. She was extremely insightful and got the return solved, and throughout the time she was amazing with my kid.”

They performed a free oil change for me during their annual Salute to Veterans event—and even provided lunch. That alone says a lot about who they are, but the service backs it up. The staff is always extremely friendly and professional. They walk you around your vehicle while it’s on the hoist and show you exactly what they’re looking at.
Both of their shops are unbelievably clean and well-organized—honestly some of the cleanest automotive facilities I’ve ever stepped into. The pride they take in their workspace gives me confidence they’ll take the same level of care with my vehicle.

“Been going to Zaks for about a couple of years now and my choice for them to do my service has only increased. They’re very knowledgeable and skillful mechanics. Above all they’re very pleasant to do business with and will go out of their way to help you. Recently my daughter’s Honda Passport had an interior water leak as a result of a plugged AC drip tube. They got it in the next morning and were also able to squeeze an oil change that day even though they were busy. I refer people to them without any hesitance.”

“I've been pretty loyal to Brausen Auto, but I have had a suspicion that they are starting to really upcharge repairs in the last couple years. I looked around to other local shops, and had a great experience at Minnesota Repair. They quoted me $330 to replace the fuel tank straps on my truck. Brausen quoted me $600.Minnesota repair was able to get me in same day, but I opted for the next day (a Saturday). They had it all taken care of in 3 hours. No nonsense. They seem honest and hardworking and I really appreciate that.”
“Jerry and the team have been taking care of my vehicles for 4 years. My dad was told by a dealership that he needed a $4000 repair on his Traverse. He brought it in to Maplewood Auto Service yesterday and they told him there was a minor leak in a seal. “My dad taught me the basics of car care growing up, so when I noticed something was off with my brakes, I wanted to have it checked before the upcoming winter. I figured I’d get my oil change and tire rotation done at the same time. After researching several places, I chose R&S based on their good reviews and relatively affordable prices in today’s market. Free loaner cars were also a big plus.
Overall, I think they did a wonderful job and provided quality service.
That said, I was a bit frustrated during the process. I was initially told my car would be ready by a certain time, which was then pushed back multiple times until I was finally told to pick it up the next day. The next day during the road test after the new back brakes were on, the team concluded that my front brakes needed replacing after all, even though there was technically pad left. My car was still not braking right, meaning more time in the shop to replace the front pads. Near the end of the second day I was finally able to get my car back. Car repairs are never convenient and definitely come with headaches like this.
While communication during the repair could have been better and would have eased my worries, I want to acknowledge that Rick truly cares about the quality of his and his team’s work. I had some concerns about the invoice because it didn’t quite match what we discussed over the phone. Rick took the time to go over the details with me line by line, explaining everything clearly(even the card processing fee). In the end, everything made perfect sense and I am happy with the work.”

I was really having a hard time when I first brought my car in here a couple years ago, but their patience and compassion was really meaningful to me. They are always so kind in helping me understand what I need to prioritize vs what can wait and why. But they completely eased my worries and made me feel safe there when I first came in basically on the verge of tears a couple years ago and they assured me that they would be totally comfortable with their own daughter traveling home for the holidays in my car after a couple quick & affordable fixes -- they let me know that the rest could wait and it would be ok. That made me really trust them so now they're stuck with me & my car anxieties!
