“Canary Beach turned out to be the perfect getaway for me, my wife, and our kids. ❤️ We came here wanting some quiet time together, and it gave us exactly that. The staff were always around when we needed something and were genuinely kind, which made everything feel easy and stress-free. My wife especially enjoyed the peaceful surroundings she kept saying how clean and well-kept the place was. Our kids had endless fun as well with the open spaces and amenities. Seeing them laugh and enjoy themselves made the whole trip worth it. What I also loved most were the lake views. Sitting there with my family felt so relaxing. This is definitely a place we’ll keep coming back to. Highly recommended!”

“The staff is always great here. Great discount for Federal/Government employees. Great breakfast for the price you pay. Very clean rooms. Definitely 1 of my 2 favorite hotels in that Alexandria area.”

“The hotel is in a great location. Easy to get to and near amenities. Desk staff were lovely. The common areas and room were very clean. Some of the furniture was lightly dinged up from use. My partner found the bed comfortable and slept well. I found the bed too firm and didn't sleep well. Breakfast was quite yummy. Breakfast and check out times are more forgiving than other hotels, which I appreciate. The pool was clean and felt very nice.

My one big concern is that we got checked in, went for a walk around town, and when we got back to our room, there was evidence that somebody had been in it. There was nothing valuable in the room, and nothing looked dug through or anything. It honestly looked like somebody got in by accident, soon realized their mistake, then left? To their credit, the front desk staff seemed equally confused and concerned when I mentioned it.

Anyway, despite a mystery visitor, I would visit this hotel again because it was otherwise clean and mostly comfortable.”

“Clean room. Carpet feels a bit unpleasant on bare feet though. Bathroom is stocked with Dove shampoo, conditioner, and soap.
The hotel itself is a bit of maze with it's odd layout, but still easy enough to find where you are going. Pool area is actually an entire rec area with a pool, two hot tubs, game room, fitness room, and indoor volleyball court(on carpet). Nice restaurant attached. Overall a decent hotel. I do wish Holiday Inn would provide a free breakfast like the majority of others.”

“There was a mess up when checking in , and somehow, I ended up being charged for my 2 nights I paid for with my points. The front desk person on nights and Jennifer, who worked days, did a great job trying to make things right for us. Thank you.Our stay was due to a death in our family. We hung out a lot in the lobby playing cards ,visiting - we moved things around alot. The staff was very accommodating and understanding . I appreciated that everything was clean and well maintained. The carpets looked like they had recently been replaced. Th decore was very relaxing. Bed and our roomwere comfortable. The kids enjoyed the indoor pool ( it was cold outside, so this is wonderful to have ) due to kids being stuck inside.I definitely recommend this hotel.Nearby activities: There are lots of restaurants and stores nearby , some you can even walk to.There is alot historic places to visit, lakes and other activities to do in Alexandria.”

“Can tell that some upgrades were made. At first, we saw the ratings and were worried since not many people were at the hotel. Realized it was dinner time, so people were out eating.

The continental breakfast was good, and had a variety of foods to eat. Depending on what you wanted.”
