July 06, 2025. A few months ago, I went to Goodwill in Robert St, West Saint Paul to donate large items. I waited for 15 minutes in the heat. Today, when I went there to buy an item, the new cashier was extremely racist. She was talking to me only in Spanish assuming I spoke only Spanish. I noticed that she spoke English only to caucasian people. Goodwill supervisors need to educate the Hispanic cashier workers about using spanish language ONLY if customers request translation services.

Really slow line for donation drop off. Donated a box of kitchen items, watched the employee toss nice vases in the garbage. I’ve been hearing goodwill isn’t an environmentally friendly business and seeing that today affirmed the rumor. I can throw things away at home, I donated them to reduce waste. Last time I’m donating to any Goodwill location.

I've only stopped a couple of times to donate. 2nd time was today. Same experience. 3rd car in line. Next car goes in and somebody closes the garage door. Sit there for 5 minutes and then I just leave because it doesnt seem if they want the donations. No explanation. Someone going on break?. I even checked the hours open for donations before going. I'm just as happy to throw the stuff out than be inconvenienced. It's easy enough to come out to the couple people in line and explain what's going on. Thankfully I have a giant garbage bin right next to my garage. I don't have to drive 15 minutes to give the stuff away. The garbage bin is just waiting for it.

Like every other Goodwill, store is full of mostly garbage, anything decent gets auctioned off online for top dollar, leaving nothing decent left inside the stores for people low on money to be able to buy, clothes are overpriced, there are many dollar store it's priced at $3 or $4 never any decent shows, ever. Kind of a total waste of time

Sadly today, through the school of hard knocks I find GoodWill has undergone significant changes in store etiquette altering the admirable charitable business environment I once knew. Despite living near the store for 15 years, regularly purchasing and donating, recent experiences have left me questioning its integrity. A couple of years ago through reliable sources I was informed the store and the organization as a whole are thriving financially, with the West St. Paul branch alone grossing over $100,000 in a previous year. However, today's encounter has cast doubt on my overall once positive perception. Having not made a purchase in several years but regularly donating, and some very nice things, my recent $22 acquisition--a sleeping bag--did not meet expectations. The material proved, by using a state of the art compression bag at an outdoor store, that this bag proved to be non-compressible like most sleeping bags. The bag was sadly unsuitable for my intended use. Not being one who can afford to own a car, I was planning a bike camping trip. Attempting to return it, I was informed of a no-refund policy, only offering store credit, and not only that, the credit is valid for a mere two weeks. On top of it all the in-store credit could only be utilized in a single transaction, any remaining value treated as a forced donation! Wow! Despite my inquiry about a universal indicator or interconnected system for tracking in-store credit across the multiple GoodWill locations in the Metro Area, the clerk confirmed the absence of such a system. So with only a sales slip there was no proof at other stores I even had in-store credit the clerk said I'd have at all of their stores! After a long search I found two shirts and a pair of gloves. I looked toward where the fitting rooms once were and nothing, absolutely no fitting rooms! The clerk said they were taken out! The lack of fitting rooms and the discovery once I was home that purchased items had shrunk in size, a not so uncommon condition when purchasing used clothing, further contributed to the deteriorating shopping experience. The now GoodWill corporation's inflexible policies and apparent lack of customer-friendly measures led me to question its commitment to the nonprofit cause. In light of these issues, I've decided to instead patronize alternatives like SAVERS or Salvation Army Thrift Store, reserving visits to GoodWill now a "corporation" as a very last resort. The shift from a community-driven nonprofit to what seems like a profit-focused corporation has prompted this change in preference. I wish I could give zero stars.

It’s a good store, but I have complaints. There is not a bike lock outside of the store, so you have to bring it inside and watch it. Also, some of the electronics are overpriced. Stuff is piled on top of each other and is hard to sift through. Although, I have gotten some good stuff here.

The selection is super small and the prices are definitely a lot higher than even my local goodwil. I'm sure it has to do with location or other varying factors but it is what it is when it comes down to

we just left the store and I found some yoga shorts that had tags from the Goodwill stated $6.99 and I got four pairs because I thought they were a good price. They were brand new at $11. The manager took the shorts out of my pile ripped the goodwill price tag off, which was an electronic tag and price-and refused to sell them to me, accused me of having one of their pricing guns. It was so very angry . His name is Brian -shame on you goodwill- do better. I will never come back to the store.I asked him if he would honor it since the price was tag was obviously there, and he just looked at me like I was a theif and stated that in front in so many people. He was on a complete power trip just because he’s a manager he doesn’t get the right to disrespect and belittle people in front of other customers, and then the worst thing he accused me of having a goodwill, pricing gun in my purse pretty much! I’m so disgusted with Goodwill not only are the prices skyrocketing their customer service is dropping-I would rather spend my money at the Salvation Army because they do things for our community and they are not for profit unlike the Goodwill.I am a professional woman and I was appalled. BRIAN you are not OK ~you are rude and should be fired!
