“Having been sedentary for the bulk of my adult life, my wife decided it was time for 'us' to get in shape. Our Medicare Advantage plan offered a wellness program called Silver & Fit, that allowed us to join a fitness center at no cost. We chose Planet Fitness in Gulfport, MS because of it's proximity to our home. Sign up was quick and easy, with the help of the desk staff! On our first day we visited all the exercise stations, did a little time on the rowing machines, and left completely overwhelmed as to where to start! On our next visit, we were again greates by the desk staff. This time we asked about an orientation to the equipment. They once again were very helpful, and set up a meeting with the staff trainer. We found out our membership allowed us access to the trainer at no additional cost! We arrived for our meeting with the trainer, Shaun, the next day. Shaun had a workout plan prepared for us upon our arrival He took us to each machine, explained how to adjust the machines to fit our bodies, and explained or showed us how each piece of equipment worked. He also offered us a chance to use each device, and helped us to position ourselves on the equipment properly, and watched us use the machines to help us achieve the proper form. So far we have been very pleased with the team, with our only concern being there are a couple of machines in-op due to user abuse, and timing to use some machines in our circuits due to their popularity.”
