Nice, quiet hotel. Rooms were spacious and staff was very friendly. We received an upgraded room when we arrived that came with a welcome bag at the front desk and welcome treats in our room. Has full breakfast that was well stocked and maintained. Only negative was it was a little difficult to find!

I must say that Christian was so very sweet and helpful. I had left a medical device at home and she worked with me to get it at the hotel and hold it there till we came back from our cruise. Such a warm soul and made our stay the best it could be!! Above and beyond... thank you!!

As a Marriott rewards member for over 10 years, I have stayed at many Marriott properties, but the Hattiesburg Fairfield Inn on Thornhill Drive is without a doubt the most run down and poorly managed Marriott property in the USA! This Marriott branded hotel needs to be closed and totally gutted, there is a horrible stench throughout the entire hotel and the floors are sticky. I attempted to check in and gain access to the 2 rooms that I had reserved, but no matter how many times the host tried to reset the rooms cards just couldn’t gain entry to one of the rooms. I nearly fainted when I was told, “I’m sorry our new day person is clueless, I think somebody is already in that room.” The rooms we were given for the night were disgusting and had a horrible mildew smell. I couldn’t wait to check out and put this disgrace of a hotel out of my memory. Avoid this hotel at all costs!!!!!

Confirmation #820323482 weeks ago we stayed at a Fairfield Inn in Northampton MA. While the interior corridors and some furnishings were alike, the rest were worlds apart in the execution. Northampton was clean and dare I say PRISTINE, so we were a little disappointed to find this location in such disrepair. From the rusty light fixtures to the tile in the bathroom that was probably laid by an amateur. Walls needing paint, the ceiling looked as if a leak was poorly repaired. I could go on, but you get the idea.

I stayed at this Fairfield in Room 200 on 7/14/23-7/16/23. This Fairfield Inn needs a Pip and plan review. I always choose to stay at Marriott properties due to the consistency in cleanliness & updates to furniture & design. However, this Fairfield was highly disappointing. When we drove up the landscaping was in bad shape and looked neglected. In the hallway on the second floor, it smelled moldy. The room was clean but needed some updates; the lighting in the bathroom/sink area was very dark, I had to call the front desk because no one cleaned our room and to get clean towels, the phone did not work, she could not hear me, so I had to use my cell phone. The staff was helpful and nice. I did not have any issues with them but this hotel definately needs some improvements made soon.

Rusty lamps. Trash bags just pulled off the roll and laid over the side of the trash can. The breakfast sandwich tasted funny, so it got thrown away. The location is not the best, kind of difficult to get to from the northbound I-59. I do not think I will stay there again.

This place is a nasty dump. Smells like pee and mold. Holes in the carpet down to the concrete, hairs everywhere. Smelled like bug spray. Bed bugs?? Two cars in the parking didn't have windows and one had what looked like bullet holes. Worst Marriott property I have seen. Staff was rude. We have Marriott awards and they couldn't have cared less. There is a new Holiday Inn Express and also another new property right next to it. Stay there. This is a shithole.

How does this hotel have the Marriott name? As soon as I drove onto the property, I could tell immediately that this hotel is being neglected. After we checked in, we were given a room with a broken toilet that hadn’t been flushed from the previous user. I went to the front desk and was given another room, but with no apology for the inconvenience. After getting our new room, the door would not open. It took three trips to the front desk to resolve this issue. It turned out the door handle was jammed. All it took was extra force on the door handle. I took partial responsibility for the issue since I wasn’t forcing the handle down hard enough.Once we finally got into our room, we noticed how dated, unkept, and dirty the room was. The bathroom floor was not clean. The bathtub was old and worn. And it appeared unclean. Behind the toilet was rust and what appeared to be black moldy sheet rock. The room felt and smelled musty. The entire experience in our room was very uncomfortable. And finally, the front desk worker seemed as though she did not wanna be there. No apologies. No real interest in her job. It’s as if she didn’t wanna be there. I’m very disappointed in Fairfield Inn.

Let me just say that this review is in no way reflective of the staff. All were friendly, polite, and accommodating. AND, I also want to give grace b/c many places still bouncing back from COVID. However, this is a no way can I stay here again until they have made renovations. I felt like something was itching me all night. The rooms are outdated and need much work to move up to other Fairfield Inns I have stayed at. That being said, the price was right for a brief stop for a road trip overnighter. Breakfast was adequate, and the staff were so nice I hate to give a bad review. You get what you pay for as far as the rooms go I guess. Next time, I will def look at reviews first. The lamps are all still rusty, the first room we got was soooo musty and smelled bad so we had to go back to front desk and request a different room. Tub had patchwork all over it as did the walls, there was a hair on our sheets, and our comforter had paint on it to repair the holes. This is a reflection on Marriott, not the staff here.

Carpet and bed felt moist. Looked grimey but in tact. TV didn't work. Staff was not very friendly but not rude (granted we stopped in the middle of the night). No bugs found when we inspected bed & room. But felt dirty overall.Rooms: Looked grimey but not run down. Carpet and bed were moist to the touch. TV didn't work. No bugs found in bed/room when inspected but did not feel clean.

Older property and it shows. Marriott prices but Motel 6 quality. The surrounding grounds are generally unkempt.Fixtures are old and rusty.Unknown substance noted on the bed spread.Main light in the bathroom does not fully illuminate. The sink is very slow to drain. Found the sink dirty when I first took the room.Had a pizza box still in the fridge and trash in the can.Cold coffee or no coffee in the lobby.Room 217 May 17-20, 2023
