I rescued a dog in the middle of I-59 and brought it to this place as it was closest. They refused to take the dog unless I paid a fee to drop it off. I got the impression they would have rather I left the dog in the middle of the interstate. No one there including the manager cared at all about the dog. I eventually got her back to her owner, but I don't even live in that state and was driving through while working. I guess things work differently in Ms.

I am just now writing this review even though it’s been years. I adopted a sweet kitten in 2020 from here. They advised me that he was on a certain fiber based medication to help his stools return to normal. I said okay, purchased the medication from them and went on my way. I took him home and found that he basically had absolutely no control of his bowels. They let me take home a very very sick kitten. We did everything we could to take care of him and tried to get many vets to help fix what was going on with him. He lived for a few months after adoption. However he ended up passing away leaving us heartbroken. Southern pines will not hesitate to let a sick animal leave their facility. They need to make sure that furbabies are healthy before leaving with pet parents. I won’t be getting any more animals from them for sure.

We fostered and later adopted a dog through SPAS and had a great experience. They genuinely care about their animals and have devoted staff.

We adopted a dog from here a couple of months ago. This shelter cares so much about the animals in their care and does everything they can to keep them healthy and help them find their forever homes. Staff are friendly and the volunteers here are hardwokring.

I adopted my best friend from this shelter 8 years ago. They seem to really care about taking care of their animals and getting them adopted to a loving home.

If you are looking for a good friend , you need to check this place out and they have a variety of animals to choose from to dogs and cats and the staff is very friendly and will be glad to assist you with getting the pet you want and I highly recommend Southern pines and they are so easy to work with on adopting a pet

I called to surrender an aggressive animal that they adopted out and the person in the phone was extremely rude. First she wanted to ask if I “knew what a aggressive animal is” because she didn’t think I knew when I was talking about which is funny to me since I have multiple scars and open flesh wounds from this animal. She then tried to guilt me into paying the surrender fee even though it was not required since we were returning her in the time frame. If you’re going to try and guilt someone for returning an animal that you labeled as friendly that ended up attacking two people bad enough to get infected and have to be put on antibiotics, then you are in the wrong not them.

I've tried calling them 3 different times. They make you listen to a 5 minute menu and if there is even a small sound in the background the audio menu starts over. It never makes it to an actual selection.*I've already stopped in. I left my information with the office.

The staff here was so friendly and helpful. They answered all of my questions and made the entire process fairly quick and easy. They made the experience really great, and it was definitely the best experience I've had when considering adoption. I'm glad I was able to adopt through them and I would recommend to anyone looking to adopt. They also microchip their animals before sending them home, which was such a pleasant surprise too.

Charged my wife $450 to surrender a mom dog and her 12 puppies that we rescued from hwy 43 after they asked if we could keep them until 8 weeks after f age upon arrival my wife made them aware this was a rescue surrender and not a re homing and the director said well your wife knew what she signed and refused to correct this and return my wife’s money we will never again rescue another stray as a result of this very costly experience

I got my cat neutered there… and although it was quick and affordable the front desk people didn’t know ANYTHING about after care procedures and were very rude… the vet failed to show us how to use the after care pain medication (so we ended up not using it because it involves a needle)… WORST PART ABOUT THIS WHOLE EXPERIENCE IS THEY GAVE MY CAT FLEAS… he was COMPLETELY flea free when we took him to get neutered (we had him professionally checked prior) and he came back with TONS and now we’re having to spend a fortune trying to get rid of them… we should’ve stayed with Davis Vet
