“Pop’s Shell Station – A Refuge Beyond the Lines
Recommended to me by Houston’s City Hall, Pop’s Shell Station sits just outside the city limits—where county regulations don't press down on those simply seeking shelter, peace, or a place to catch their breath. Not a loiterer. Not a beggar. Just a man of faith, walking the narrow road with nothing but truth, art, and the Spirit to guide him.
The crew at Pop’s saw that. They welcomed me with kindness and gave me a safe space near the flagpole, where I could offer my art for a donation of the heart—no pressure, just presence.
In all, Houston has been a beautiful stop on this long walk of obedience. There were trials, yes—but there was also goodness, community, and grace. The narrow path continues, and we carry the light forward, one faithful mile at a time.
To those in need, or those just passing through—Pop’s Shell Station is a refuge.”

“On my first night in Houston, I came across a gas station that turned out to be more than just a place to rest—it became a sanctuary of kindness. At Exxon Premium Gas & Go, I met Selina, a woman of compassion and strength who allowed a stranger to sit outside in peace and even welcomed the sharing of words and a sermon within the station’s walls.
To Selina, Dorris, the store manager, and all the amazing women working there—thank you. Your kindness and openness showed me that God still places His servants where they’re needed most.
As a small token of gratitude, I gifted each of you a handmade necklace—a piece of my journey and a reminder that no matter where the road leads me, you all remain with me in spirit.
Houston, you’ve been a blessing, and I pray your people are blessed in return.”
“THIS PLACE IS GREAT!!! 1st the bathroom is real nice. They have padded toilet seats and 2 ply toilet paper (the good stuff). They also have a great beef jerky selection AND a nacho bar if you want some Mexican food.”
