I had a disappointing experience with this location. My insurance company made a reservation for me, and I arrived with the reservation number in hand. Before even checking it, the staff asked if I had called ahead. When I said I hadn’t, they informed me that for insurance reservations, you must call first so they can confirm availability.
I was under the impression that a reservation made through insurance would guarantee a vehicle, especially since it’s often for urgent situations. Unfortunately, it felt like insurance customers are given lower priority compared to direct-paying customers. I understand there may be business reasons behind this, but it would be much better if the process and expectations were communicated clearly up front—either by the rental company or the insurance provider. Giving low priority for the people in urgent need is not a good business deal now matter how much you can make profit out of it.
I hope they can improve their coordination with insurance companies and make the experience smoother for customers who are already dealing with stressful circumstances.

The employees are really nice and professional, especially the manager Chris. He’s always very helpful. My car is always clean and ready when I pick up. I’d recommend this location versus other locations in St. Louis. I do notice that a lot of times customers come in very entitled because they are used to going to the airport location not realizing they can’t get the same benefits at the smaller locations that they can at the airport.. i’ve also witnessed customers coming in hours late for rentals and expecting them to still be there. I was there one day and a customer came in to get a rental that he reserved the day before and was upset it was gone. Personally, I wouldn’t pay attention to the negative reviews because a lot of them are lies from people who were upset that they couldn’t get their way like spoiled children.

Chris is my hero. I recently had to unexpectedly rent a vehicle while on vacation with my family. Originally was lined up to rent via enterprise and then was denied because their policy doesn’t allow transactions without credit card on your person. I called Chris and explained my crisis. He was so kind and accommodating and reassured me that he can get me in a rental without issue. He had what we needed available and ready for me by the time we got shuttled to his store. Chris’s kindness is such a high stress situation is not something I will ever forget.

I loved renting from this location. However, the last two time renting there were issues as the min vans appeared not be cleaned. The last rental i found out 5 days later was never closed. I found out the hard way when Hertz recovery called and texted that the rental was over due. When i returned the car, I handed the keys directly to the employee who rented me the mini van originally. Not sure what happened.
When i went to the location to find out what happened. The location closed early.

Honestly this used to be my first choice , the manager. Chris is awesome but the regular employees give you a hard time , as a gold member I should never be offered a Kia soul , I shouldn’t have to continually bring back broken dirty vehicles and definitely dislike the attitudes on the new sisters ( employees) I wasn’t sure about leaving a review but this is my 3rd awful experience with Ms niyla

Absolutely seamless experience. I got my rental from Nyla (I truly hope I’m spelling her name right) and she was simply incredible. She worked with me on a Friday afternoon to get me an amazing car. Never in my life would I think I’d be grateful to have a rental car but the process to get one involved multiple locations. Ballwin ROCKS! Will be a repeat customer.

I’ve read a lot of bad reviews about the customer service at the Ballwin location, but I’ve only had positive experiences. I rent pretty frequently, and every time, they go out of their way to be helpful and friendly. The car I reserved is always there, it’s usually pretty clean, and the wait time isn’t usually that bad. The only issues I’ve had are that they clean the car out only after they start the rental on the computer when your at the location, and that’s usually like a 5 minutes wait which is fine, and sometimes the cars smell like febreeze. They usually answer the phone and will help you resolve any concerns that happen during or before a rental. Chris especially is a great example of a good manager and is extremely helpful. Overall, 9/10

Excellent local car rental location. Very helpful staff. Booked online and picked up the car in person. Short wait. Car was clean and in good condition. Returning the vehicle was easy. Will definitely rent from them again.
