Clayton Plaza Hotel is a beautiful, classic hotel with a grand lobby. Some areas remain under renovation, but it is generally very clean. The location is very good, within walking distance of restaurants and not far from Union Station and the St. Louis Arch. Staff are consistently described as extremely friendly, pleasant, helpful, and possessing a sense of humor. The complimentary breakfast is repeatedly praised as great, exceptional, and the best, with highlights including omelets, waffles, and a breakfast bar for everyone. The pool is noted as clean and beautiful. Rooms are very nice, featuring modern amenities like smart showers, though some lack a view. The hotel offers a game room for families and validates for parking. However, some guests found the hotel poorly maintained, noted constant front desk validation for parking was inconvenient, and reported that conference audio quality was terribly poor.

Booked this hotel through Agoda. At first, I thought the room looked outdated, but it was actually very nice. The bathroom and shower area have been renovated, and the entire hotel is clean. The front desk was really helpful and kind! Highly recommend.
