Was in the store for over an hour looking at glasses (at one point I was the only one looking at glasses) I was ignored the whole time. I didn't know you had to sign in at the desk when I asked if I should have taken a number or something they were rude to me. Never go back there again.

Wow go elsewhere!! Place is shady! No eye doctor on premises. You go thru tests with someone I don't even know is qualified, to give the eye tests. If you happen to flunk the tests then yeah, have to go back a week later, to actually see an eye dr and get an eye exam. Which is WHY I went there, in the first place! Apparently it's difficult for them to give eye exams and fit you for glasses. DO NOT waste your time with these people, omg!!!!! ALSO FALSE advertising! Their commercials say, set an eye exam online, NOPE! No Dr on-site, and setting appointment online, only gets you a few eye tests by someone who looks like she's in high school. MUCH better places to go in town, as I thankfully found out!

I went in January 5th, at 10 for an appointment. I ended up being there for 2 hours. I seen the doctor and was done in there about 10:45. I sat and waited an hour before being seen. I even told the tech lady Joe, I believe her name was that I would like my glasses tightened while I waited because I knew I would be waiting for the other patients who’s appointments were before me. I stood and waited for a couple of minutes and they were seeing patients walking in, so I decided to wait. I sat down and then they kept proceeding to see patients before me. Even the ones who were buying glasses as walk in’s. After I had came in for my appointment. I was so upset that I wasn't being seen first as I had an appointment. Then when I finally got to see the tech Joe was working with me. I told her that I would just like my prescription of my glasses printed out, and then was going to buy my contacts. Because my insurance covers. She proceeded to tell me that ky insurance wasn’t covered and that I, myself, needed to call the insurance company and figure out why. Because she couldn’t. Even though it’s HER job to call. So I ended up leaving with no contacts. Or anything. I am so upset over it. And will now have to go up there another day to get my contacts.

First time trying America's Best on 40 highway in Independence and was not a good experience. The lady that does the insurance is rude and doesn't have time for anyone. She is very annoyed that you are even there. Doesn't seem to like her job at all or work with people. I picked the two glasses I liked and was going to add a third pair for prescription sunglasses but then I had to deal with her. I ended up leaving without any glasses. Just the eye exam. I do not recommend them at all.

My first experience here was not good. I got all the way to selecting which glasses I wanted and the black lady that pulls insurance was just so rude. I Didn't feel welcome there at all. Questions were met with eye rolling, aggressive hand movements and huffing and puffing. I told her just forget it because of her attitude. She suggested for me to take pictures of the frames for next time, I told her no thanks I am going somewhere else. I was planning on getting 2 pairs of glasses and an extra pair of prescription sunglasses but this just isn't the place to do it enjoyably. I would not recommend this place.

Carmen: Please, PLEASE work on your customer service and communication skills. Nobody HAS to come to that business. You aren't entitled, to my business. There are other places to go. I’m talking to you because I need an eye doctor appointment. Not because I owe you child support.work on small things. Like not cutting people off. Sitting there for 6 minutes not responding. Sounding like you’d rather be at an Oncologist than talking to me. Let’s start there.

Shocked at all the awful recent reviews. I had a great experience from check in to check out the entire staff was courteous, friendly and professional. Shout out to Ashley at the checkout desk where you pick out and pay for your glasses. She was very nice!

Made an appointment last week online same day. Get there to find out it’s remote but still an office. No big deal. Get back into the room. Have very little direction from the girl administering the pre-eye test and couldn’t pass it to save my life so they advised I needed to see a real doctor, which was not on staff so I had to reschedule. Rescheduled for today. Waited 45 minutes to be seen. Get out of my exam and I’m told to wait on the bench for the ladies who handle the ordering of glasses or contact lenses. There’s a line and I can tell so I asked the lady at the front desk if I don’t have time to wait can I call over the phone to order my contacts? She advises I cannot because I need to pay for my exam. Why she could not handle that I’m not sure, but advised I needed to sit on the bench and wait. I waited an additional 30 minutes while one person was helped in that timeframe. Mind you they’re are still several people in front of me to be seen. In this timeframe, there is a customer who is repeatedly blowing up their phone line. Because they keep putting him on hold and he is Irate about it. And rather than ignoring the line and helping the growing line of people, waiting to order contacts and glasses, and the growing line of people waiting to check in, they continue answering this phone the 25 times he calls in and putting him on hold. Back to back to back. Instead of tending to the people that are in their face to be seen and 30 minutes one person was helped. And at that point I have been in their office for an hour and a half and I got up and I walked out. Oh yes, without paying for my exam. I’m sure they’ll find a way to bill me. Do better America’s Best. Stop over booking your appointments. And understaffing your employees. I won’t be back and I won’t recommend this place to anybody.

Very poor experience after years of no issues at this 40 Highway Independence, MO location. Made appointment online week in advance, filled out all their online stuff, was ready and waiting 5 minutes ahead of appointment. Waited 5 minutes past appointment time (no big deal), just to be told they only do remote appointments for online schedulers (despite having an available doc on site and not with customer) and it would take hours to get a prescription, and informed me it may take multiple sessions if it doesnt "take". Staff was polite, but seems like they just don't want my business, despite being a cash paying customer.Now going to schedule with their competitor.

I truly wish a zero was an option. I’ve been coming to Americas Best for probably 3 years or so across states and different locations in the city. This location is the worst by a long shot. The people working at the front desk are incredibly rude. I had one appointment for an exam and ended up walking in and canceling it because of the horrible attitude and communication I received. I unfortunately had to go back in today to pick up my prescription to take it somewhere else and somehow had an even worse experience?? Both times I’ve been in, the woman working at the front desk with a slick back bun and old fashion raccoon eyeliner is one of the most miserable people I’ve ever come across. Tight lipped and wildly inconvenienced by any human within a 10 mile radius of her. PLEASE spend the extra time in the car to go to another location.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This place use to be great however recently they have had awful attitudes especially the woman named Carmen. She sounds like she is absolutely miserable working here. I got a message today stating I could move my appointment to today instead of waiting till the weekend and I thought that was great. Upon calling ahead to let them know I would be 5 minutes late they said they had been trying to contact me (I have had no text, calls or emails) stating they would have to reschedule my exam as they didn’t have a tech in today. So if you didn’t have a tech in why would you guys ask me if I could come in today instead of my original appointment. Absolute waste of my time and will be going to another location.

Worse place I’ve been. I’ve been going here since highschool (15 yrs) and it’s just got worse and worse. They’re rude. And extremely unhelpful. Like they hate their job. After my contact exam I asked to go back to an old brand of contacts. They told me my exam wasn’t good for those. I asked for my RX and they printed me off my glasses Rx only, leaving out my contact Rx which I paid 100$ For. They’re rotten and just a bunch of unpleasant old ladies. Take the time to find a real optometrist. 1800contacts called them for me, got my Rx which they said wasn’t possible to use, and got me taken care of. Absolute joke. I never write reviews, that’s how difficult they made this

I’ve just moved here from Michigan. I started with America’s Best there, and I hope this America’s Best treats me in the same pleasurable way. 2 pairs for the cost is a great deal. Sure helped this Social Security person a lot of money. I appreciate that.
