The Hilton Garden Inn Independence is easy to access near the Interstate and close to many restaurants within walking distance. The staff is very courteous, super nice, and helpful. The meeting space is nice, the food is pretty good, and the breakfast buffet is enjoyable. Rooms are clean and comfortable, with quite hard beds. However, the property is described as old, run down, and not up to Hilton standards. Rooms can be a bit worn and very musty smelling, with stained carpets, signs of water damage, and issues like a horrible shower with poor pressure and mold in bathtubs. Hallways were incredibly hot with a mildew smell. A major renovation is underway, with updates visible in the lobby, which promises future improvements.
Suite came without a TV for the lounge area. Bathroom has water damage from the floor above. Clock and thermostat battery's low or dead. Definitely was hoping for a better experience. Doubt I will choose Hilton brand again.

Hotel is under renovation. Although the renderings look like it will be an immaculate hotel the floors are in need of renovation. We attempted to stay here this weekend and the front desk lady was willing to let us out of our rooms. We are excited to see the final results of the project.
