Hours: Independence Commons is a nice enough outdoor mall. It is a great place with a great atmosphere to get out of the weather. The AMC Independence 20 theater is reasonably nice with stadium seating, good seats, and great movie quality, making it the nicest theater in this area of the metro. The loyalty program is good. The mall has a Best Buy, a Barnes & Noble with a coffee shop inside, and a Kohl's, along with other assorted department store type places. Customer service experiences vary. Some employees provide great and outstanding service, with personable and kind greeters. However, other employees can seem distracted, preoccupied, or unhelpful, sometimes giving incorrect information or refusing service, which can leave customers feeling disappointed or treated like they weren't wanted. One store was noted as not being logically laid out. While there used to be good food options, none are currently noted as worthwhile. The mall is primarily visited for the movie theater and specific chain stores like Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, and Kohl's.
