The building is beautiful, well-maintained and is always being enhanced to sustain the quality of life it feels its residents deserve. I have loved every minute I have lived here, and would recommend 45 Madison to anyone looking for a safe, clean, quiet, and gorgeous place to call home!”

It was so refreshing to see a leasing agent who genuinely cares and is excited about the complex they represent – an instant green flag for me! “I enjoyed living here. The apartments are architecturally pleasing with wide hallways, great views, and lots of light. The community is very well designed. The neighbors are nice. There is a nice pool, hot tub, BBQ, clubhouse, also well designed. My friends were always impressed when I brought them over. There is a nice bridge over a creek and wooded area which leads to a walkable shopping area with places to eat and coffee shops. Good school district. Great location. The property management team is professional and responsive. Jen and Tasha are especially standout property managers with a friendly professional attitude and excellent customer service. The management team was responsive and prompt when it came to maintenance. The only suggestions I have for improvement is the process for paying the last month's rent is needlessly confusing and a bit of a hassle. There were also two cars stolen in the year I was there, but these seem like isolated incidents, and the neighborhood itself and the surrounding is very safe, family oriented and upscale. I felt very safe there. Still, I think the apartment complex could be more vigilant about who they let come on the property. I see lots of friends of friends of friends using the pool and other facilities, and could consider beefing up security. Overall though, excellent experience. I would say Altitude is probably the best apartment complex in Kansas City.”

“I was very disappointed with the last place I lived and was very skeptical that the reviews were too good to be true here. I have was pleasantly surprised that they were true. I find it amazing that one person (BJ) can run this whole place by himself and keep it running as smoothly as he does. I understand that won't always be first in line when I have a maintenance issue but it always gets taken care of in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice peaceful place to live.”

“Had to take a moment to leave a review about the office staff, they are wonderful to work with! We recently moved in and decided to get a puppy, our puppy got out when we weren't home and caused some damaged. I spoke to Ai ..I believe..who was absolutely amazing. Since we are new tenants, I was nervous about telling them but, Ai didn't make me feel bad or judge us about it. Ai was so nice and understanding, wish all property management was like them!”

In addition, two of the reasons for choosing this area was the security of the premises and walking location to Old Westport. All interactions have been positive and professional. “I happened to stumble across 909 and on a whim I signed up for a tour. After meeting with the leasing agent Amber, she answered all of my silly questions as someone who’s always lived in the suburbs and had hesitations about living downtown. She reassured me in my decision to move to the area, and I went home to apply for the unit I saw that same day! The application and move-in process was so easy that I kept thinking I must have missed things on my checklist, but alas, it was just that quick and painless! We got a reserved elevator for move in, which helped the movers immensely! The view from my unit is amazing, and the convenience of the roof top garden is great for pet owners - especially for single girlies like myself who are nervous to walk around at night in the downtown area! The parking garage feels safe and has ample parking available, and I’m totally looking forward to not having to dig my car out in the snowy season. Downtown parking has always been, and will always be risky no matter where you go in any city. Break-ins happen, but if you take precautions like keeping your car locked and free of any loose change or chargers you can reduce the risk - something to keep in mind! I have to say, this might be the most quiet unit I’ve ever lived in! I’m a very light sleeper and am very use to hearing my neighbors every move, but I couldn’t even hear the sounds of the city which I was fully ready to adapt to! I’m right next to the elevators and still such peace and quiet that I’m in awe. I read some wonderful reviews and decided to try out 909 and I’m so pleased! I hope my review helps convince someone to make the move too!”

“Only one person was very short with patients. All the others were angels and would do anything for you. Older black woman would tell other workers they dont have to get us things but they would do it anyways. She was mean and shouldn't be working around people who are trying to recover.”

“We have been absolutely ecstatic about our new place so far! We weren't able to see our apartment until it was almost move-in ready, and when they showed it to us Logan could tell we weren't thrilled about it, so they showed us another unit they thought we'd like better right away (even though it was past closing for them) and got it ready for us to start moving in 24 hours later. All it took was signing a different lease and, boom, new apartment.We had a minor maintenance issue and they came to fix it the same day that we called it in, and we haven't had any other problems even though the building is historic.The views are incredible, and the location is within walking distance of bars, restaurants, the grocery store, a couple of parks, the library, the streetcar, the YMCA... I love it.”

“This is officially my first review ever. The maintenance manager, Jason went so far above and beyond expectations that I would like to leave a 5-star review. From my experience, I have positive interactions with all the house staff. The receptionist, Tynee is always smiling, accommodating, and eager to help. The office manager, Felecia is very easy to talk to, she is knowledgeable of property, facilities, and operations. If Felicia does not know something, then she quickly finds out and does her best to share her knowledge with other residents. Back to Jason. My refrigerator stopped working yesterday morning and after failing to troubleshoot by the afternoon, I sought help. I made my way to the lobby to discuss the situation with Tynee; however, she was busy with giving a tour. On my way back to my apartment, I ran into Jason in the hall, told him my situation and within 23 minutes he had a replacement refrigerator for me. No questions asked, literally stopped what he was doing, and helped me. Believe me, I was beyond grateful! Luckily, none of my food spoiled.I have been a tenant here since June 2021. As a resident physician, I moved to Kansas City from Denver after matching with UMKC. The apartment complex overall has been the best apartment I’ve ever lived in. Daily, there is cleaning staff mopping and maintaining the common area, The gym is large enough to accommodate everyone during peak hours, and the dry sauna is a nice touch along with the yoga studio. There are multiple social rooms that I’ve studied in and never felt unwelcomed or disturbed. This place also has a complete dog wash with hot water. Yes, the Westly recently changed ownership and it was unfortunate to lose Shy and Rosie- they were not fired; Avenue 5 apartments relocated them to other apartment communities. The new staff is well on their way to making this building a home. After reading some of the other reviews, there are other things I would like to address. Sirens, yes there are sirens. Especially on Friday and Saturday nights (St. Luke's Hospital is 2 blocks away). The Westly is literally on the corner, in the heart of Westport. Westport is a party block and there is always a police presence- which I am thankful for since I do choose to live here and explore the local bars and restaurants. As for the Parking garage, it is unfortunate that some people’s cars have been broken into, I wouldn’t wish that on anyone (btw, my husband and I both own vehicles and park in the garage). The current managers have done things to improve security by placing magnets on exterior doors that make it harder for people to get in, and by placing metal plates on the doors located in the stairwells, leading to the hallways which make the hallway doors harder to pry open. I have also noticed security in their vehicles in the garage- granted I don’t always see them, so I can only imagine they are patrolling different areas. As far as the mail room, I’ve never had a problem with my packages being delivered. As for the shootings… the gym windows were never shot. Between my husband and I, we walk our dog around the neighborhood four times daily. Additionally, I walk to and from work for nearly every shift and we have never felt threatened or in danger of our lives. If guns are the issue, then get out and vote for change.I am looking forward to renewing my lease for the third year. Again, thank you Jason for your superb customer service.Randy”

“Lots of cool businesses in things to check out but it was Stone Cold confusing to navigate with the building having been chopped up. If the first floor all did one thing and the second floor all did one thing and the third floor all did one other thing then that would make sense to me anyway. But it's not quite like that and I don't smell the bread so I was just confused but we got there in the end. Got to stay positive”

We appreciate that there have been times when maintenance and office staff were in transition, but even then they continued in due diligence to keep up with demand. “I move into Steeplechase going on 3 months and I LOVE it here. Friendly neighbors and great staff. I’ve put in a couple maintenance request and they have been taken care of within 48 hours which is awesome! Only downside is all the construction going on but other than that 10/10”

“I love it here she made it so easy for me and my daughter and my mom and my grand baby to get in these beautiful apartments they have washer and dryers and beautiful carpet and I have a wonderful view I feel safe over here the neighbors are quite and nice it’s easy to go online and pay my rent on time and early if I want to I absolutely love it here way better then were I came from I signed up for a 7 month lease but I know for a fact when my 7 months is up I’ll sign up to be here longer cause this is definitely our FOREVER home it’s just WONDERFUL here thank u for making it easy and care free getting in here!!!!”

“Been in this bldg for over 4 years. Staff are always helpful and if they are not real busy they are always available for just a chat about whats happeing in our lives. Apts are sort of old fashion but that is what makes them RETRO!! Only thing missing is a w/d. I do miss that. But other than that, great spot for bus, to anywhere.”
