I had no problems with this rental car company. I booked it on Expedia while we were on the bus to get to the rental area. I booked a small electric car which they were out(this is great because I didn’t know I booked electric) they gave me a charger instead and I still paid $61. I paid with a debit card so there was a $200 deposit that was released to be a few days later.. no issues with my experience

Very bad service for the rental. Did not get the car I reserved. I paid for the rental in full while making the reservation and declined all additional insurance coverages as my credit card covers all the insurance. I returned the car on time without any issues or damage. Upon checking the credit card statement I saw an additional charge which is almost equal to the rental amount. Upon calling the customer service they told me the charge is for the insurances which I declined. I told the customer service representative that I declined the coverages. Finally I was told that I can get only 50% of the additional amount which is equal to 2 additional days of rental. No proper response and definitely not happy with the rental. I am being charged for services I declined. I am definitely not going to use Payless in the future and will also not recommend this company to anyone. Getting the 50% refund is also a hassle. Had to wait over the phone for almost an hour.

Returning home for leave from the military, pre paid for my rental. And they refused to give me the vehicle I had already paid for saying they could not accept my card as it was not a major credit card. In turn left me stranded at the airport because it takes 5 business days to receive the refund. Not everyone is made of money. We cant all fork out 2x the money because they want to hide policies behind travel agencies such as American Forces Travel.

This was the worst car rental that we have experienced. No papers were given at checkout. Car was dirty at pickup. Charged an extra $200 at pickup. Checkin was a madhouse. Pulled to the signage that shoes to be checkin. Sat for 20 minutes waiting for employee. Noticed that people were walking past me w their bags from rear. Walked back to the back and flagged down an employee. He said he would be up in a few to the car in a few. Went back to car and waited another 10 minutes. Finally drive back. He said all was good and to get paperwork inside. Went inside, where employee said that car wasn’t checked in by the outside employee. Had to leave for flight. Received a staggering “cleaning” bill. No response to emails to contest. Worst car rental ever.

My boyfriend reserved a truck, no refunds allowed. But we can't get an answer when we call to try to get help about where to go to pick up, there are no clear signs for where to pick up, only returns. Very hassle filled. Do not book.

Don't try to call them, they will not ever answer and the phone system simply hangs up on you when you call and let it ring. They will also make clerical errors surrounding your reservation which are not in the least convenient to fix. The older lady at the airport Payless/Avis counter has ATROCIOUS customer service. She very clearly does not assist her co-workers with managing the line of customers even when there are no priority customers in line. She seems to think her dialog with customers and coworkers is snarky and fun, but really it's just mean. I was helped by one of her co-workers who was excellent, but this other lady did NOT make for a great experience or environment especially after a lengthy day of travel.Save yourself the trouble and avoid using this rental company at this airport.

If you want to experience Dave Chapelle’s “Popcopy” experience, you have came to the right place. This place will attempt nickel and dime you by lying through the grind of their teeth. I pre-paid for a 3 day rental and while picking up the car, I noticed an additional $100 for the total expense.At first; I asked the lady for the explanation and she mentioned the additional charges were for the security deposit. Later the evening, I finally got my rental reservation estimated total. She upgraded my car without my permission and I found out they receive commission based off upgrades. They were going to make me pay $270 for 3 days on a base model Malibu!I asked the on-shift manager how they operate on the 2-star business, poor unprofessional man couldn’t give a proper explanation.Avis/Payless, you have lost me as a customer for personal & business travel.

Avoid at all costs. There was garbage in the car when we got it and got charged another $100 on a single day work trip for other "fees" that should have been included in the price.

Zero stars. Do not rent here unless you want everything screwed up. Management is apparently inept, no organization at all. The desk workers will make a mistake and you will pay for it.

Read the reviews before we booked, but there was no other availability. Unfortunately, the poor reviews are on point. We were billed $267 more than original quote because there was an additional $50 added to the base rate for two days, $50 late fee for car being returned an hour after original time, $100 for insurance that was not requested (and they failed to ask about). We’ve never had this kind of issue with any other rental. I would steer clear if at all possible. Just ridiculous.
