Ozark Outdoors Resort is a fantastic destination for floating adventures and relaxation, situated in a peaceful valley among Missouri's rolling hills. The resort has been welcoming guests since 1960, offering a mile of stunning riverfront camping and lodging along the Meramec River, ideal for families and friends. Conveniently located near I-44, it serves visitors from St. Louis, Kansas City, Columbia, and Springfield. Visitors appreciate the well-run operations, with friendly staff and well-maintained equipment. The resort features beautiful property, clean grounds, and ample shower facilities. While some have noted the challenges of crowded weekends, particularly during holidays, many recommend visiting during weekdays or in the fall for a more serene experience. The cool waters of the river remain inviting even on hot days, and wildlife enthusiasts enjoy spotting turtles and native birds. Guests are advised to come prepared with thick-soled water shoes, sunscreen, and plenty of food and water. While the resort prohibits glass and styrofoam on the river, the atmosphere is lively, especially on weekends. Options for floating include traditional rafts and a tube loop, with the latter offering a more affordable experience. Overall, Ozark Outdoors Resort promises memorable adventures and a chance to escape into nature.
The room was our camper so I was pretty pleased with that. But for real, this is a major campground with large shade trees and a lot of amenities. You can tell they've out a lot of time effort and money into this campground over many years
