Will never do business with this bank. Mymother-in-law is in hospice care and her account was compromised. The bank was telling us we had to cart her to a physical location to get the account unfrozen. She is completely immobile and we decided to file for power of attorney so we could manage on her behalf. It took them multiple days just to get back to us and then they requested we drive 45 minutes to the bank again to give them more paperwork and have a new card printed for the account. My wife took off multiple days of work to accomplish these tasks and then the bank had the audacity to say the bank card wouldn’t be printed for hours. We’d have to drive another round trip to get the card. I don’t understand how you do business like this! We need access to the account to spend down for Medicaid application, which is time sensitive. This bank has been the biggest headache and has stressed us all out to the max. Can’t wait to be done with them.

Do not bank with Hawthorn. They'll up and close your account without any notice. No phone call, no email, etc. One day before my direct deposit was about to be deposited in the account, they deleted it for "suspicious activity." I even secure messaged them and told them what happened but they cancelled my account. I just called the bank and they're keeping it cancelled. Stay away.
