Cub Creek Science and Animal Camp is an overnight summer camp for kids ages 7 to 17. It is a legit summer camp with gravel roads, bugs, fur, feathers, dirt, sweat, and fun. The camp offers a tremendous experience with a great mix of fun and learning. Kids can try new things and learn about different animals through up-close encounters with more than 100 species. Activities include a high ropes course, archery and riflery ranges, a craft hall with ceramic pouring and pottery wheels, fishing ponds, hiking trails, and lots of crafts. Children earn beads for activities, a favorite feature, and enjoy showing off their growing collection. The camp is very well organized with friendly, nice, engaging, and helpful staff and counselors. Kids feel welcome and included, make friends, and often come out of their shells. The sleeping cabins are very nice and air-conditioned. The food is tasty and even raved about by campers. The balance between structured activities and free time allows kids to feel they have some control over their experience. For many, the camp is life-changing, helping to develop leadership and communication skills. Some campers hope to return as ASITs. While the camp can be very expensive and chaotic during drop-off, it is generally considered worth it. It provides a safe, occupied, and fun opportunity, especially for children passionate about animals. Many families and campers return year after year.
This was probably the best experience of my 13 years of life I’ve been going for the past 3 years now going on 4 the food facilities and overall people were amazing
