Dollar Stores near Smithville, MO

“We love our Smithville Dollar General!!!! The staff goes out of their way to help us any time we need or ask for it. Great products, great clearance, great prices. Restroom has always been available & clean for us. Wish we could still get our rolls of quarters there for our laundry mat at our apt. but the manager said they can't do that for us anymore, & I guess I can understand that. Anyway great store great people except Aaron, he asks people for $ even when he's working. Don't care for him, but every1 else is awesome!!!”

“It seems to be operated very well, the employees are available to help the customers in the aisles and keep an eye on things, as well as available at checkout. This and the Liberty one are my favorites.”

“Friendly staff.....this morning in the snow...the female employee was scooping the front of the parking area with a shovel. Dollar General management should be ashamed .as much money as the company makes not only do they only schedule one person a shift at this store...making it inconvenient for both customers and employees...they can't pay to have snow removal. “I visited FIVE different Dollar Trees in the greater KC area yesterday. This Barry Road location was BY FAR the most tidy & organized one! Yes, there were 2 carts with boxes to be shelved, & it was not 100% spotless. And yet it was generally clean, bright, tidy, & stocked - a far cry from the other stores.

The aisles were wide open & accessible, except for those 2 carts, & an employee was actively working to move displaced items. I approached & thanked her, explaining what I’d seen elsewhere. She was very cheerful & polite & seemed genuinely excited to have a store she could be proud of, but I forgot to get her name. The young man at the register, Mo, was also polite & friendly. This makes me want to come back.
I will add that the store had 2 (& both working!) price scanners. That was rare in my findings elsewhere. The other store had none or didn’t work or only had one. Big props for this, with all the price changes happening!
This store had been one I was avoiding, due to its previous lack of organized shelves & overall messiness & lack of cleanliness. I will now add it to my favorites! Dollar tree, take note! Have some pride, managers! It matters!”
