“We held our event at The Franklin, and we were truly blown away by the extravagant hospitality exemplified by the owners and all the staff! Danny and Christina are some of the kindest people we've had the pleasure to work with, and they bent over backwards to make sure that every need was accommodated - and trust me, we had a lot!! They were fantastic throughout the planning process and were always available to answer questions. They were both physically present during our event, and that gave us such peace of mind to know that they cared enough about our celebration to stay and make sure every detail was perfect!

The venue was in excellent condition - clean and glowing with historic charm - and we were thrilled to have it be the setting for our special day. We had multiple guests tell us how beautiful the space was!

The chef was absolutely phenomenal and did a fantastic job of curating a menu specifically for us! We are foodies with a love of new and authentic dishes, and the food did not disappoint! We had many guests approach us throughout the evening to say how delicious the food was! The serving staff were friendly and professional and truly added to the elegance of the evening.

We really can't recommend The Franklin enough!! It's a 10/10 for us! Thank you for making our celebration perfect!”

“The Ballpark Village was a nice place to visit, I went to park at the location to grab an ice cream, wind blew my ticket away and when I get to the exit, and explain it to the situation I was told to pay $35 for lost ticket I accepted the charges but still waiting for 18 minutes for the gate to open. I hope the management see this and advice the concerned staff how to treat tourists.”

“This place does not get enough recognition! Zoomies has lots of food, beverage, and treat options, I get something new each time! I also love strolling around the pet shop. Lots of fun treats for pups too. The dog park could use a little updating, but it's still always a great time for us!”

“?????
Casa Loma Ballroom – A Time Machine Drenched in Jazz, Charm, and Whispered Secrets

Ah, the Casa Loma Ballroom—not just a venue, but a living, breathing relic of St. Louis history. Since 1927, this grand dame has hosted everything from big band legends to dance marathons, and she’s still standing, heels on and chandelier blazing, like a silent movie star refusing to fade from the screen.

Sure, she’s got a few creaks in her floorboards and maybe could use a bit of polish, but if you look past the wear—and see with the eyes of a gin-soaked dreamer in a pinstripe suit or flapper fringe—you’ll be transported straight back to the golden age of swing, sweat, and smoky seduction.

The Casa Loma is one of the last great ballrooms in the country, and certainly one of the crown jewels of St. Louis charm. She holds stories in her plaster, rhythm in her bones, and a timeless pull that makes you want to spin, sway, and stay a little longer.

It’s not just a night out—it’s a step into a speakeasy spirit, where the music is live, the lighting is low, and every dance feels like it could be your last before midnight strikes.

So put on your dancing shoes, bring your sense of wonder, and don’t come expecting slick modernity—come to be part of history. Casa Loma Ballroom is a love letter to St. Louis’ soul, and she's still writing new verses, one waltz, swing, or salsa at a time.”

“This venue was amazing. I came from Indiana to see Jack The Underdog and Davvn. Venue was clean. The only thing I could complain about is the spot they chose for the hand dryer. ? ?”

“My wife, one year old, and I just finished up a four night stay at The Royal Sonesta Chase Park Plaza (that's a mouthful). The hotel interior was beautifully decorated for Christmas which we definitely enjoyed as a first impression. The folks at valet and check in were polite, and helpful.

Our room, a Chase One Bedroom was very nice. We need the extra space in order not to have to share a sleeping space with the child. The sitting area of the room was a bit small, but still well appointed. The bedroom area was very large and had a simple yet functional bathroom. Not really a complaint, but I do feel the bathroom was a bit standard compared to the higher end feeling room.

We ordered room service on a couple occasions. The food always came quickly and was fantastic. I was a bit unhappy with there being both a 20% gratuity AND delivery fee added. I feel like it should be one or the other. I felt awkward about whether or not I should tip the delivery people bringing the food. It just felt a bit like I was being nickel and dimed on that front.

My wife used the gym which she stated was large and nice enough. We did not use any other amenities as we were in town to visit friends, plus we had the baby and couldn't spend any time at the bars/restaurants.

One final note, the price was great. A large room in a luxury hotel with room service a couple times and valet every night ended up being about $1700. For off season, I think that is quite reasonable.

Oh! One last thing. I was a little annoyed that I was denied a luggage cart upon checkout. I was told I HAD to utilize a bellman. Thats odd and inconvenient if I prefer doing some things on my own.

In summary, dont hesitate to book. We will likely book here again when we come back to the area.”

“The Grand Hall is truly an unexpected delight.

First, lets talk about getting inside the place. Easiest way in is to use the valet parking out front. (This is a hotel after all- and this literally connects to the hotel lobby/front desk.) If you opt out of using the valet, getting to the Grand Hall is a little tricky. We parked in Union Station's main paid parking lot out back, and it was a bit of a maze getting to The Grand Hall, using gates, walking through "Hotel Guest Only" doors that likely should have been locked (PSA- they weren't). You would think it would be easy just walking through Union Station's halls to get to the other end but there were gates closing the giant halls off. Why Union Station itself was blocked off in the center of it, I have no clue. Nevertheless, we made it to the hall after cutting through the hotel.

The architecture... Its magnificent. Its literally hard to imagine this was a train depot. The ceilings are extremely high. The details- from the gold-laced paintwork to the multiple archways to the stained-glass windows, the architecture itself is worth the trip alone. No, this isn't Rome- this is St. Louis (lol). Its nice to see that we still have building like this in this city.

The food- not bad. The drinks- also not bad. Dining and drinking here is very casual and you will see large groups of people walking around with suitcases, etc. The tables are very small but with comfy lounge chairs and couches around them.

That being said, the server was fantastic. Literally as soon as we picked a table, a server appeared to take our orders. I ordered calamari and jumbo prawns. The calamari was pretty awful, admittedly- unsure what happened there as it was dry and tasteless. But the prawns were large and were pretty good.

Lastly, there is a light show that is displayed on the ceiling of the Grand Hall about every hour or so. Yes, you read that correctly. It was a fairly unexpected surprise. The light show lasts about 10 minutes or so and the light shows are themed. We saw The Beatles light show, and on our way out, they were starting a Queen/Freddie Mercury light show (which Queen isn't really our thing, so we packed up and left during the first few minutes of that).

The bottom line- go for the architecture, drinks and the light show. The food is just kind of okay. Still definitely worth checking out. Just be prepared that if you don't use the valet out front, its a bit of a challenge getting back to The Grand Hall from the opposite side of Union Station. And remember, this is literally connected to a hotel lobby.

Four stars. A noteworthy place to check out even just for the history and architecture.”

“This venue is incredible! We hosted our son's birthday party there recently and had a wonderful experience. It is so nice to have the entire place to yourself, and the food is delicious! We loved not needing an exact count for bowling, which meant we could include families without having to ask who wanted to bowl before they arrived. The staff is so kind, helpful and easy going. The point person for planning was very responsive and helpful as well and answered all my questions and even made suggestions that helped our event run smoothly. We will book again in the future without hesitation!”

“Spectacular would be an understatement!! 10 stars for the best and nicest most professional service - Maggie was a dream coordinator for our sons wedding. Food was the best wedding food we have ever had. Butlers pantry catering! Entire staff goes over and above! Highly recommend!”

“Originally, my husband and I chose this venue because they took so much off of our plate by including so many things. They managed the food, the DJ, bar service, Photo Booth, cake, decor, rehearsal dinner, and day of coordinators.

We used the Royale Garden for our ceremony and it was such a beautiful space. The cottage was perfect for getting ready photos. Our florist added some tasteful decorations to the pillars and fireplace and everything came together so well. Our ceremony was everything and more than we could have dreamed of.

There were so many compliments on the food being excellent, so much better than the traditional “bland” wedding food. Our bar had 12 beers on tap, a full rail, wine and plenty of NA options for children and folks that chose not to drink.

Their upgraded decor options were affordable, tasteful, and really made the process so much simpler when it came to planning. I love that they allowed me to use theirs, and bring in some of my own personal touches to tie into my theme. I provided detailed instructions on how I wanted things and they executed them perfectly. It truly was beautifully done and 100% exactly as I wanted.

The cake options were amazing and everyone enjoyed having so many dessert choices. We worked with their preferred bakery, and also had some vegan desserts delivered for some guests. They used our provided displays and everything was so much prettier than we expected.

Mostly, we cannot say enough about how amazing, supportive, professional and thoughtful the entire staff was, specifically Linda and Holly. They made this whole process so simple. I am incredibly detail oriented. There was no point they made me feel like a bridezilla. They documented all of my needs and communicated with each other SO WELL I never had to repeat myself or clarify anything.

Thank god I don’t have to do it again, but based on my experience, I would definitely use this venue for other future events. After 17 months of planning, I’m almost sad I don’t get to talk to them frequently anymore. They truly care about you and your wedding day experience. They want it to be everything you have dreamed of and more. They think of things you wouldn’t have and are so skilled at coordinating all of the finishing details to ensure a smooth and stress free day!”

“Our experience with Catering St. Louis & City Cottage was amazing. I can't recommend enough. We booked them for our small wedding, and had our ceremony & reception both at City Cottage (guest count was around 65). Everyone loved the food, the staff, and the environment. I will admit the location was a little iffy at first, but they have security on site the whole time for the parking lot & the party. It was so perfect - and for the guest count we had, it felt like the perfect space.Photos by The Marions”
