Original Review:DON'T RENT FROM HERE!! read the reviews. Waited in line for 1.5hrs for our turn....yes we did sign up for the pre-paid gas as the cheaper rate, then was charged for a full tank upon return. It was explained to me that I would only be charged for whatever is needed to top off the tank so of course I agreed to save time on my vacation. Thank goodness I took a picture of the odometer when dropping it off AND even my receipt shows 1/2 a tank was needed to top it off. They still charged me for a full tank vs a 1/2 tank top off. Because this is a franchise, corporate won't do anything. Emailed the manager Kristina Wilson, 4 times per what an employee instructed me to do with no response. I will be disputing on my credit card as I have documentation of the incorrect charge with no resolution directly with the vendor.Unfortunately, nothing will happen to this review except an auto generated response from Thrifty. Good luck! You may as well walk or Uber vs your card being charged incorrectly.Update - Kristina was able to rectify the issue and did get back to me which I am thankful for as I honestly lost hope. I did change my review 1 star to 3 stars as it did take a long time, but I am grateful for resolution.

Extremely bad experience. Never again! It was in the afternoon a couple of days ago on Sep 2, 2023 in the international airport in Bozeman, WY. It was an unbelievably long wait to get my booked vehicle - 3.5 hours standing in a long line. Everybody had the same experience and was reasonably frustrated. The Thrifty staff did not even bother to apologize when we finally were able to talk to him at the desk. He was also blunt, saying that the car he was giving us was the only one we could have - no choice or explanation at all. He said that it was an upgrade. But I did not like it. I wanted to drive a small car and of the model (at least a comparable) I ordered. Essentially he was saying "you take it or go away (after hours of waiting)."Meanwhile, the staff kept warning me that there is a very high chance that drivers will get an accident by driving in Yellowstone National Park (because of the gravel roads), especially after I had told him that I did not need the insurance policies he had offered. He lied. Driving within the Park is extremely easy for the average driver. On the money side, the staff held an amount from my credit card that was three times the total amount on the bill as kind of security. That was completely different from what the contract said.Regarding the car, the tires were not adequately inflated. A TPWS warning appeared on the second day. They did not check the car before renting it out.I will never patronize Thrifty, especially that one in the airport in Bozeman (more precisely Belgrade, WY).

Long wait times...even if the line isn't that long. The top 10 worst customer service experiences I've ever encountered. Holly was rude, smug, judgmental, and threatening. She and her employees lacked empathy along with any customer service skills. Do not rent from Hertz, Dollar, or Thrifty as they are at the same counter.

Be ready to pay more than you agreed to. We booked a car through AAA with a quote near $500. They gave us a car of their choosing due to the special. At the time we asked for something different that would better suit our needs. They wouldn't help, but offered us other options at a higher charge. We declined and took the car they offered. After returning the car we noted an up charge of $30 a day as well as other charges that shouldn't have been added. We can't reach the desk or get this resolved. Bottom line is they stole an additional $250 with us and won't answer or resolve the issue. Stay away. The manager is scammer based on our experience. All of the cars they said were an up charge they said they had limited numbers in. We drove outside and saw 30-40 of the cars they said were limited.

Could not leave West Yellowstone until 2 hours before the car was due back. They said if i returned the car 1 minute late, I would owe an extra $600. Ridiculous.

Booked a car rental through Hopper for Thrifty. Got to the counter today 1 1/2 hours earlier than I expected and they said they could not give me a car. Then I watched 20+ people go through the line and got a car. Is the Bozeman car rental market that closely run that there are no additional cars for rental 1 1/2 hours before be reservation time? Pretty frustrated with Thrifty Car Rental Bozeman!

Thrifty is located at the Hertz counter and appears to be controlled by Hertz. I currently have a car rented and when I picked it up, my discount via Thrifty was not honored. I was told their computer ignores the discount but that the manager would fix it. To confirm, I asked for the managers email and sent him my Thrifty agreement and have emailed and called several times to confirm that the original agreement will be honored. So for, zero response from anyone local. I did call Thrifty corporate (listed on my original agreement) and was told that this is a franchise location and there is nothing they can do. The desk staff is great, but, the management seems to be lacking. I would not recommend Thrifty or Hertz in Bozeman to anyone.

My issue is not with the Thrifty in Bozeman, but with the overall company. Long time Thrifty Blue Chip member so used them when we went to Bozeman. After the fact, was told that since the location was a private contractor and not run by Thrifty itself, I would get no points for this rental (and it was a somewhat expensive one at that so a lot of points involved). Really feel cheated. Chose Thrifty because of the points. Competition may have been less expensive and certainly passe up getting small amount of airline FFM by doing it. Was not obvious that rental was contractor nor that I would not get points.

Despite the negative reviews, the staff were friendly and I was able to rent a car issue free.

An EXTREMELY enjoyable experience. The agent who rented us our vehicle was very courteous, kind, helpful. She explained clear and concise. The vehicle was a perfect fit for my wife and I. Thank you for allowing us to rent a vehicle from you.

my flight arrived late, just past midnight. I made sure to include my flight information so the counter would know to wait for my flight like every other rental car agency in the airport. As I get the the rental car counters, every agency is there past their midnight closing time making sure customers get their cars - everyone car agency except the Thrifty counter. Try calling the late number and you get someone in India who can't help you. To add insult to injury we had to take the most expensive 8 mile cab ride ever - $45! And will Thrifty come get you the next morning? of course not. I would of just booked with another agency while at the airport but they all go for the throat when they see you're desperate.

I am pretty sure my girlfriend and I were in line at the dollar counter last week, behind Ms. Lorenzo, unless there was another woman, with the same name, tossing a temper. Our account of things are quite different. The young man, with dark short hair, and older woman, I believe to be the manager could not have been, more helpful and accomodating to you, they had a huge line, and you were being very loud and very rude. They tried to help you, but nothing was good enough. Shame on your potty mouth too, in front of our young children.
