“Jim from the Rec Room came to Miles City today and recovered my vintage 1945 Brunswick Anniversary Edition pool table. I've owned this table for about 35 years and never have I seen it looking as good as it does now, after Jim performed his magic! The guy is not only a true professional, but also a perfectionist!
His attention to detail, as well as his knowledge, is truly second to none. In this day and age of (more often than not) shoddy workmanship, Jim is beyond a breath of fresh air. “Great crew. Great store. Still the same awesome sales for like 30-40yrs. I remember TV ads as a kid for the ‘Gamblers Sale.’ Also they hold educational classes at the store from time to time. Recently they hosted “Bear Aware.” Whether you are from outta state - or a local born and raised : ) Montana outdoor adventures can, and will be, wilder than you could ever imagine. “We bought our raft from Sunshine Sports at the spring swap and couldn’t be happier with the decision! Over the years we’ve rented from them and it was time for our own and ended up getting a great setup at a great price! The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and always helpful! They have helped with everything from rentals and shuttle recommendations to giving us tips on places to check out. Their customer service is top-notch, and you can tell they really care about helping people enjoy the Montana outdoors. Highly recommend!”

“One of the best stores in Montana
Scheels is one of those stores that makes me wish Bozeman had one. I actually drive from Bozeman to Billings specifically to shop at Scheels, and every time I make the trip I’m reminded why it’s worth it.
The selection is absolutely incredible. Whether you’re looking for outdoor gear, hunting and fishing equipment, athletic clothing, shoes, camping gear, or something for the kids, they seem to have just about everything. It’s the kind of store where you can easily spend a couple of hours walking around and still find something new.
The staff are another huge reason I keep coming back. They’re friendly, knowledgeable, and actually willing to take the time to help you find what you need. I’ve had great experiences getting recommendations and finding the right products rather than just being pointed toward an aisle.
And the store itself is just awesome. It’s huge, clean, well organized, and genuinely fun to walk through. The Ferris wheel and all of the different displays make it feel like more than just a sporting-goods store.
Honestly, my biggest complaint is that Bozeman doesn’t have one. With how much outdoor recreation there is in the Gallatin Valley, I think a Scheels would be incredibly popular.
Until that happens, I’ll keep making the drive to Billings. Five stars without hesitation — Scheels is worth the trip.”

“My family absolutely love this business. All the workers are very knowledgeable , they have good prices for the new and used gear, and they care. We shop here quite often and they always greet us with a smile and are willing to answer any questions I have with any of the gear. They are patient and take the time to make every customor feel good about their purchases and to make sure it will be a good fit for whatever gear you are there looking at. I will not shop anywhere else.”

“I came in looking for a crossbow, a niche item, I know.
After speaking with a few employees, I eventually met Rich and I had a rich experience.
Rich is experienced with cross bows, and was able to explain string weight, grain, rope cocking devices, but also explained other necessary items, straps, bows, briad heads, cases, back stops.
Then even regaled me of stories of back country safety and experiences.
Overall I could not have been happier with the experience and was ex c ited to receive a business card to further my experience if I had questions later.

“I was in town last weekend (Friday 7/3/26) visiting family. Took my step daughter to multiple different boots stores in town to find some she liked. We got there with about 30 mins before closing. I felt horrible and told Megan we would be as quick as possible. She jumped right in to help us! Told us we had plenty of time.
