The Viv Bioactive
81305 Gallatin Rd Suite A, BozemanI love that you can always trust the Viv to provide happy, healthy, well-socialized and ethically bred animals + the best supplies to help them thrive. If you are involved in the reptile or amphibian community here in Bozeman, you know what an incredible gift the founder, Lauren, left us. Why would you go anywhere else to find a pet? Going to commercial pet stores, you see a lot of sick animals and obvious missteps when it comes to husbandry and care. These guys know their stuff. My partner and I have purchased 3 animals from them over the past 4 years. They are a super sweet leopard gecko, a sassy/curious ornate uromastyx and (to be picked up soon!!) my dream reptile, a baby rainbow boa. The staff spend a lot of time with us each time telling us about their demeanor and personality quirks + how they may evolve over time. They talk through all of your concerns and help you make good decisions for your animal throughout their lives. They even offer resources for things like snake babysitting for trips. You can feel how much passion the staff has for what they do. It’s always worth the visit even just to say hi to the animals. Keep up the phenomenal work guys! I can’t wait to pick up Winifred this week! ?

Bozeman Dog Co.
43 Mill Town Lp Suite E, BozemanI’ve been a customer for years. Even though I have a fence around the backyard with livestock wire to contain the dogs, I rely on the invisible fence to add an extra layer of protection that gives
me comfort in knowing that even the best escape artist won’t get past the double protection of a physical fence and an invisible fence . Jon has been terrific over the years. He’s offered customized solutions for us to have a portable invisible fence when we travel.I highly recommend Jon and Bozeman Invisible Fence.

Dee-O-Gee BZN Downtown
424 E Main St #103, BozemanCan’t say enough great things about Dee-O-Gee! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with genuine warmth and enthusiasm. The staff here are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do. Shows they clearly care deeply about pets and their well-being.
What stood out the most was how informative they were. I had a bunch of questions about dog food options and supplements… and they patiently answered each one with insight and expertise. They didn’t just push products; instead, they took the time to understand my Aussie’s needs and offered tailored recommendations. Also, they provided a generous assortment of treat samples for dogs to try…which was a thoughtful touch and gave me the chance to see what my pooch liked best. She was thrilled, and I loved seeing her enjoy all the different treats. Highly recommend to any pet parent looking for personalized care and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. ??

Oasis Grooming
170 Timberline Dr # 6, BozemanEdited to add: we just had both our dogs groomed today and Hailey did an incredible job as usual but really went above and beyond today by finding cheatgrass seeds in between both of their toes and one that was already halfway under our younger dog’s skin. She is so good with our older dog who doesn’t tolerate much for very long and gets hot. She is considerate of his needs and timing. She did feather trimming to clean up on their back legs, bellies, chest, tails and feet and I am never concerned about looks as much as comfort but they look amazing and clearly seem like they feel as good as they look. 10/10 recommend. We had our large breed Saint Bernard/Bernese Mountain dog groomed here today and I very admittedly have not done a great job with keeping up with his brushing especially with the change of seasons. My 8 year old boy has been around many groomers and he was so happy and well cared for and didn’t even try to book it for the door when we picked him up. He is beautiful, clean and comfortable and we are so grateful to Hailey for taking such great care of our big man.

My dog is normally nervous going into a vet clinic. He came right in this one, laid down, fell asleep, and was relaxed the entire appointment. Even when the vet was checking vitals.

All West Veterinary Hospital
105 All W Trail, BozemanI have adopted a parrot (huge learning curve) and a bearded dragon and both of these are animals that the internet has terrible information about. Half the internet is constantly saying one thing and the other half says another. When you have exotic animals you need good solid information you can trust. I have taken my parrot to them and I've taken bearded dragon to them and they gave excellent service to both the parrot and the bearded dragon were extremely thorough in their examination and the cost was very reasonable, especially for exotic pets. When you get an exotic pet, you are warned of the high cost of the vet bills with parrots often fetching bills $400 or more (in Utah and Colorado) and they have a very reasonable starting point for in exotic pet, a fraction of that. So first of all there's that.
As I said they do a very thorough examination and they give you good information about your pet and will spend all the time with you. The vet spent more time than was allotted for our visit to make sure all my questions were answered and she did not rush me and it really shows that she cares. I was taking my parrot in for a regular checkup after I adopted him but by bearded dragon had to go in for an emergency checkup and they were able to get us in relatively quickly- the next morning.. to be seen which I was grateful for. They also walked me through how to care for him for the rest of the day after the emergency so we could last until the appointment. I will definitely be bringing my exotics back here and I would recommend them highly to anyone else.
I know they see horses and llamas and sheep because I've seen them in there when I've been there. Of course they see cats and dogs. They see reptiles, parrots and I think they would probably attempt to see anything that needed to be seen.. but I will not speak for them.. so just check with them, but I'm just speaking for what I've seen in the office times that I've been there.
Thank you guys!

Pet Sitting & Training

Sit Means Sit Dog Training - Bozeman
20 Ginger Bear Ln unit b, BozemanI reached out to Sit Means Sit for my 2-year-old Golden retriever, Lily. She was having some issues with the basics of good behavior and training but most importantly she was having some confidence issues. When I met with Darin for our initial consultation, I walked out of there knowing that this was the place that was going to take care of Lily and make her an even better dog. Lily started her training with Steven and within the first 10 minutes she was no longer pulling on her leash which I always struggled to teach her. The saving grace was the e-collar. And once I felt comfortable with that, I knew we were on our way to success. Every training session with Steven was one wonderful experience after another. His genuine love of dogs and respect for the owners is truly amazing. After each session, Lily just kept getting learning so many new behaviors and I saw her confidence growing. So now I have a well-trained and confident golden retriever thanks to Steven and the amazing folks at Sit Means Sit!

The cats are a little temperamental, but Sara was willing and able to handle their personalities and I think the cats actually liked her. That's huge. We never worried one day about our cats and whether they were being cared for properly. I have every confidence in Sara and would definitely use her again.

Crossroad Café
908 W Main St, Bozeman**November 2025: Sunday Afternoon Visit** My mom and I were looking for some local Montana gifts and food and saw the huge Co-op building on a drive down Main Street. The parking lot is kind of small, but we were able to find a spot to squeeze into on our visit. When you enter the building you'll see an impressive self-serve section and I noticed quite a few people loading up their plates or to go boxes. There's an island of ingredients to make your own salad and a couple of home made soups, and another area for hot items. My mom and I decided to share a squash soup, a small salad, and an assortment of hot items including South Carolina pulled pork, mac n cheese, biscuits and gravy, and mashed potatoes. I also decided to try a local kombucha which was really refreshing. We grabbed our utensils close to the exit and headed upstairs to enjoy our food. After we devoured everything we perused the main floor and bought a lot of Montana based goodies including teas, Bequet caramels, soaps, and skincare products. Suffice to say I spent quite a bit of money here, but I'm happy to support local and be able to share the Montana spirit with my family and friends! I'd say Community Food Co-op is kind of like a cross between Trader Joes and Whole Foods, but with a great emphasis on sustainability and local goods. Price range is $$-$$$ range depending on the items.

Genuine Ice Cream
605 W Peach St Unit 101, BozemanMy daughter and I had an exceptional time at Genuine the other late Monday evening. We were greeted by a darling college student named Logan. She was friendly and obviously loved her job working in an ice cream shop. We both were in the mood for hot fudge and we both got honey lavender ice cream. My daughter also added a gluten free sugar cone to the top of her Sundae. This was an excellent surprise as she hadn’t been able to enjoy a sugar cone for years. She said it was an excellent sugar cone. The ice cream was exquisite, and the hot fudge was sinfully good! Logan was exceptional and helped add enjoyment to our ice cream late night treat. 161 Bent Wing Rd, BozemanThese photos were taken before Rob@ Raptorview research institute out of Missoula captured and removed bailing twine from the young Osprey. He then contacted the Montana Raptor conservation center (MRCC) in Bozeman to pick up the bird for some much needed treatment. After some antibiotics and foot soaks the Osprey was banded with a metal band and was released back at the nest site. I'm thankful that the MRCC quickly picked up the Osprey and gave her the care she needed. A job well done by all involved. The folks at Montana Raptor conservation center do amazing jobs helping and with education of these birds of prey. Although they are not open to the public they do have events during the year available on their website.
