Horrible experience. I dropped my rental off on a Sunday evening in Bozeman MT when it was supposed to be dropped off. Handed the keys directly to person at the counter. The next day I receive my receipt. My rental did not get checked until 8am the next morning causing my to have a late fee as well as an additional days rental. When I called customer service I was given a run around and told it was being sent to another department that would reach out in 24-48 hours. I then asked to be transferred to a manager and was told they could not do that. Needless to say it has been over 48 hours and still no car and no refund. Horrible customer service

The upholstery of the car was absolutely filthy, front and back. Only 3/4 tank gas when picked up. A friend also rented an Avis rental for the same weekend, from the same Great Falls agency, and the front tires were completely bald. There were three young ladies riding in this vehicle, driving through the countryside where deer and other wildlife frequently cross the highway, driving in the rain, in the dark on the 60 mile ride to their lodging. ON BALD TIRES.

Very poor experience with staff member who literally hid in the back and couldn't provide me with head office number when vehicle we rented two days earlier was not there. Then to top it off, Head Office then cancelled our reservation and kept a $50 cancellation fee when they were not able to live up to their obligation. How can you book the vehicle, send us 3 emails reminding us about booking, charge us immediately to my credit card, then cancel because you could not provide a vehicle and charge the me a cancellation fee. How unprofessional. Left me and my husband, military veteran and his service dog sitting under a tree with our suitcases due to your incompetence.

I am not new to renting cars, last year MY firm did over $126,000 of business with Hertz.My flight was delayed 2 hours, so I called my appointed "Avis Corporate Sales Associate Megan Vandenberg" and I asked what would or if Avis would charge me for an additional hour of the car use, Her reply "I don't know, Call the regular rental number and ask them". So, I did, I was told by the associate it would be an additional $207.00 for the hour!!!!!!! I could not believe it, and asked the sales associate to confirm it, He told me "if it did not work for me I could always rent a car from another company". I then called Megan Vandenberg back and she told me that there was NOTHING she could do, I could always keep the car for the hour, and when I was charged the EXTRA $207.00 FOR THE HOUR, I could then file a claim for a refund and see IF Avis would do it!!!!!!And you ask IF I would recommend Avis to someone else, the answer is NO, NEVER.

I rented a car thru Avis via Expedia. Due to flight delays/ cancelations I was unable to pick up the car until the next day. I was assured by the rep that I'd only get charged for the days the car was in my possession. When I dropped off the car and inquired about a refund for that 1st day, they declined and said I prepaid thru Expedia and needed to take it up with them. When I contacted Expedia they said AVIS declined the refund and are adhering to their cancelation policy. I didn't cancel anything. AVIS has misinformed me and I paid for a car an extra day that I did not use it.

Each time I've rented from this location, the car was not clean. I could not see thru the windshield- it was covered in bug guts, along with the entire front. I had to stop at the gas station nearby to wash the windshield, before driving to my destination a few hours away. On the previous trip, not only was the windshield dirty, but there was a crack extending across the entire windshield.

I recently had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with Avis Car Rental that left me thoroughly dissatisfied with their services. Despite making a reservation four months in advance, the company failed to provide me with a vehicle - upon arrival I was informed that there were no cars available. The staff's response was either to offer a dirty car or to wait for an indefinite period of time.Eventually, I agreed to take a dirty car - but then I was assigned a car that displayed an alarming "oil maintenance required" warning. I expressed my concerns to the manager, Ray, who said that this wouldn't be an issue. Informing him that I would be driving over 500 miles into remote areas, he did not take any action to get us a new car.The true extent of Avis Car Rental's negligence and lack of maintenance came to light a couple of days into our trip when we experienced a flat tire. After waiting of over three hours for roadside assistance, a volunteer firefighter lent a hand in changing the tire. We discovered that the inside of the tire was completely worn out, suggesting that these tires were extremely old and should have been still driven on. Avis lack of maintenance is not only unacceptable but also poses a serious safety hazard to unsuspecting customers.Upon returning the rental desk in Great Falls, we were promised an opportunity to speak with the manager. However, we were met with disappointment once again when he failed to show up. We were then assured that he would call us first thing in the morning, only to be left waiting for a call that never came.My experience with Avis Car Rental has been an absolute nightmare from start to finish. The lack of available cars, negligent maintenance practices, and unprofessional customer service have left me deeply dissatisfied. I strongly caution against renting from this company, as they have demonstrated a complete disregard for customer safety, satisfaction, and even basic communication. Steer clear of this company and explore alternative options for your rental car needs

I had a flight cancellation to Great Falls, MTand was rerouted to Bozeman. I then had to rent a car from Avis to drive to Great Falls to pick my Avis rental for our two week vacation trip. Avis gouged me for $400 for this one way rental where my price for our 2 week rental was $1000 The Avis personnel rationalized it with “it’s a Holidsy week (4th of July) and it’s the law of supply and demand”. I then received an invitation to join their loyalty program. You’ve got to be kidding me!

There was no rep present at the desk to assist me with identifying damage on the vehicle not on the rental agreement. I was also charged 16$ for not returning the key. I did return the key.

I was rented a car with tires that were totally unfit for driving , one almost blew out , and I had to go to a tire shop to fix it . Customer service was completely unhelpful. It should be a given that a rental car is in appropriate road worthy condition. Go to anyone but avis

Uggg. Rental was only supposed to be just over $300, but yet the added extras totaling over $1000. Customer service is no help!! Now we have to go to corporate to get this handled accordingly

I had been satisfied with Avis rentals until this last rental. First, four-wheel drive was AWD. We didn’t order this type and driving through heavy snow at times was difficult. Second, The windshield wiper washer jets were clogged and the trip from Great Falls to Helena was very dangerous having necessitated us to stop and clean the windshield off frequently on our 90 mile trip to Helena. We needed to have a mechanic blow out the windshield washer jets to continue our travels at our expense and replace the windshield washer fluid at our expense as well because Avis would not exchange the vehicle at Helena airport but told me instead that I would have to return the vehicle to where I rented it, which was 92 miles away in Great Falls. This was totally unacceptable. I shall switch my allegiance to another rental agency. You can bet on that!

I was very pleased with the help we received at Avis in Great Falls MT - the staff was very helpful and got us a vehicle quickly at a great rate, compared to Enterprise. Avis is the best!
