The absolute worst insurance company my mother and i have dealt with. They barely paid anything for in state and then reprocessed all of our claims for last year. They will not help us pay a dime which they’re supposed to. They also didnt help my mother pay for her mammogram, which is federal law that they have to pay. If you want to be in debt and worry about your health, use mountain health as your insurance. If you want better, definitely steer clear, and find one that will actually help you pay for things.

Ive had this insurance for years. It was great until this year. I needed an MRI and they refused it. My GP and a Spine specialist said no PT until the MRI based on what they saw on xrays. I did all the appeals and it was still turned down as were the cortisone shots necessary to help correct the problem. I am now out almost 6K and they also aren't paying the PT bill. Had I just asked for pain pills they would have gladly given me those instead of actually fixing the problem. Moral of the story. Look for a different carrier. In response to the below response. I have contacted you so many times that I can recite the number in my sleep. I followed all of your rules but made the mistake of actually following the "Doctors" advise because they are the healers. You did NOTHING.

Avoid at ALL costs! Have had them for years all went smoothly until the last year. Same gold insurance plan suddenly zero providers in network in Missoula, so having to pay full cost out of pocket. They shouldn't be allowed to sell insurance in Montana if they have no in network providers! Total scam!

This is the worst health insurance company that we could have ever signed with. They never approve prior authorizations, that are need. They claim they up-to 14 days to decide if you need surgery for a broken ankle. Last I checked heath insurance is not a doctor, plus we pay our premiums to have coverage when it’s needed.

Terms of plan change without informing you. You are left with insurance that doesn’t serve your needs whatsoever and are blindsided by bills that were supposed to be covered. Customer service is laughable. This company is an absolute nightmare!

This is the best insurance company I have every delt with. I received a bill after a yearly visit for my co-pay amount and called the drs office with questions. They could't help me so I called Mountain Health. They were kind and understanding. Amy (from the call center) called the drs office directly and handled it for me. I've NEVER had such service. I've used Blue Shield and Regence and was dreading making the call to see what they could do. I am truly amazed.

I would not recommend using this service. I signed up through healthcare.gov cause the price was attractive and I have it had an HSA. I don't have the slightest clue how to put money into the HSA, and can't find anything on the website. I called about a billing issue in the past, couldn't even get an answer that made sense. Dude was telling me invoices go out the 5th and 7th of each month, and I said you're invoicing me for next month and it's not the 5th or 7th of next month yet. Then he'd just repeat himself.

I have been with this company for quite awhile now. I rarely use my insurance for anything, but they offered a free telephone doctor’s consultation. During said consultation, the practitioner said that it was detrimental for me to follow up and get some age appropriate procedures done. Well, after getting these done, this criminal insurance company paid next to nothing, leaving me with a massive bill for procedures that are not only age appropriate, but we’re also necessary to ascertain my health. Does MT Health Co-Op care about its insured people? No, they most certainly do not. Shameful organization. Go with a different company, it will be worth it to actually have legitimate rudimentary coverage when you need it.

This company is terrible. I have a 1000$ deductible but the plan ends up paying next to nothing. I just paid $1500 for an mri and now I have almost $1000 for the dr leading up to the mri and I am told that is out of network with an additional deductible. I hate this company

Absolutely awful customer service. If you call for simple items, expect to be transferred multiple times only to be put on hold and dropped, or transferred to someone who does not have even basic knowledge of telephone numbers or departments in their own organization. Total Disaster.

This is one of the best health insurance companies I’ve been dealt with. Their customer service is always superb. The agents are kind and patient. The company does their best to help you under your plan, and even sometimes going above and beyond.

What a great company. Large enough to have great products and service - small enough to really care about its members. Montana is much better with MHC in the market. Funny how competition makes all competitors better. The best choice.

When inquiring, I received timely, helpful service from the whole staff at Montana Health Co-op. They were upbeat and friendly and were able to answer my questions very quickly! Recommend using Montana Health Co-op!
