“The Dollar General in Sioux City is awesome. The store is pretty organized for being such a big store. There is a ton of merchandise and took me a good 49 minutes to got up and down every isle. The staff is always polite and it looked to me as if they run the store with only one person. Crazy for such a large store.”

“This was a quick trip for some Easter candy to give to my nieces. Even though it was right before Easter there was still a decent selection and since it was not busy when I was there I was able to be in and out in a short time. My only complaint is that the workers did not wear masks and personally I did not care for that.”
“I frequent this Dollar General mainly because I live a block away. It's very convenient for me to just walk over and grab something I need right away. (Such as today I ran out of deodorant and that was all I needed. By of course I left with around $16 worth of stuff.) The aisles are very close together, but I've noticed that about every DG I've been to. They try to pack everything in. This location keeps their shelves pretty well stocked and organized. The clearance bins are always a mess and there isn't always a price sticker on the items, but that's the fun of clearance, right? The 'find.' There is one area that is always an awful mess. Sadly it's right by the register. It's always just stuff piled there and looks like the inside of a hoarder's closet. It blocks some clearance stuff and their line of Husker items. Very few 'fresh' groceries here. I never buy anything that isn't a dry good/non-perishable. It just doesn't seem very...well, fresh. No produce at all. Parking lot on one side and street parking on the other. Lot is usually clean. No public bathroom available. Staff is always nice. I'm usually greeted and helped when I need it. Friendly people. I have experienced their registers shutting down more than once. And if the place is busy the employees seem frazzled, but it's rarely busy.”

“Today visited Five Below and purchased a couple of pool inflatables. I noticed a sign stating that the store offers free inflation, so when I checked out, I asked an associate if they could inflate them for me.
The associate seemed confused and went to get the manager. The manager told me she had never done it before. When I mentioned that I had seen the sign advertising the service, she said under her breath, “Nobody has taken advantage of that, I guess.” When I asked what she said, she repeated it. I found the comment unnecessary and unprofessional.
The manager inflated one of the items, but it wasn’t fully inflated and seemed irritated throughout the interaction. She then asked a younger associate to finish the other inflatable, but the associate didn’t know how. During this time, I also overheard sarcastic comments, including, “Well, whatever the customer says,” which I felt was rude and inappropriate.
Thankfully, Lilli stepped in. She immediately offered to help, corrected the inflatable that wasn’t done properly, and finished inflating both items. She was friendly, professional, and genuinely happy to help. Her attitude completely changed what could have been a very negative experience.
The associate listed on my receipt (younger girl ) was ID #947321. I hope management reviews this interaction and provides additional customer service training. My concern is not that they didn’t know how to perform the inflation service, but rather the attitude, sarcastic comments, and lack of professionalism shown during the interaction.
Lilli deserves recognition for her excellent customer service. The manager and associate could learn a lot from her example. I am giving 4 stars solely because of Lilli. Without her, this would have been a much lower rating. Thank you, Lilli, for turning the experience around.”
