Would rather pay more than deal with these guys again. Super unorganized - couldn't even honor a proper line. People behind me were getting helped before me.Well-intentioned workers but took over 40 minutes to get me keys for a premade reservation.

I've been waiting for assistance to get my U-Haul for almost an hour. The lady directed me to scan a QR code which I had to do the process all over again and still it failed. When I asked for assistance not one person helped. It took them 20 minutes to help me.Andre who is the store manager was very dismissive, not helpful and let me there standing because I kept telling him I do not have another number and proceeded to help other people. Didn't help that he catered to white people and let the black girl standing there while he went and ran circles to Massa. The service here is disgusting.

The sign says can I help? The staff are not a t the counter they float around the area offering help but when you run into an issue they walk away to help another customer! They also barely answer any questions or walk away as their speaking so no ability to ensure you understand why a pre registered rental is not going through. Finally a second staffer explained that out of state licensing requires the drivers phone number plus 3 additional contacts and phone numbers which need to be then verified by their corporate office. This is inefficient and could have been managed as part of the preregistration. An hour later we got the van. With little to no help from staff members.

Do not use U-Box at U-Haul for long distance moves. I moved from California to New York with U-Haul U-Box. The website was glitchy and didn't provide the right options, and the customer service on the phone was generally bad so I had to make many, many, many calls with each person having a different thought or guess as to how to go about drop off, shipping and pickup. It was chaotic and disorganized. Go with another service. I hear that Piece of Cake Moving is great.

Update to my review. Still feel the same way about U-Haul Corporate who made the decision to cut costs by mandating customers and staff use the online check in/check out rental truck clusterf$ck, however, management at this location seems to have figured out how to lessen the pain. After vowing to never rent from U-Haul again, circumstances were such that I had to give them another go. Tip #1: DO NOT pick up OR return your rental truck after business hours. Call the location to make sure you know when staff is there and when staff leaves on the day you are picking up and returning your rental. This way someone can assist you when the online process crashes and doesn't work, which ALWAYS happens.I made sure to pick up my rental at 9am on a Sunday. SELMA was there and using an iPad, she assisted everyone on the cue, entering in their information so that they could pick up their rental truck with relative ease. SELMA was amazing!!!!! I was in and out in about 10 minutes and I didn't feel like crying.I just returned my rental vehicle today, Tuesday and arrived at 9:30 AM. I had my Uhaul rental order cued up on my iPhone ready to drop off and go through scan-click-scan-take photos-upload-app crash hell, but instead, staff member KAVON greeted me and said he'd be responsible for check out, and that I didn't have to go through the app nightmare. He asked me how the rental vehicle was during my move, and he confirmed how much I was going to be charged which matched the estimated cost of the rental I received when I booked the truck. Tip #2: It was still my responsibility to take photos of the rental after check in to be able to drive off the property and was subjected to having to use their online system. Sadness. As always, it crashed on me after I had taken and uploaded pics, but the second time it worked. I MOSTLY check "dispute" and upload if the there is even a tiny scratch on passenger side, front, back, roof, interior, etc. I rarely check on "accept". Since I returned during open business hours, KAVON took over the check out and examined the rental upon return and did not find any "damage" that wasn't already there so I was free to go.I hope these tips are helpful. Godspeed to you all!

Truck I rented was in great shape, it was the truck share service app pick up and drop off that maybe took a couple years off my life from stress.

DONT DO IT.. The driver's side door opened several times while I drove 50 miles, i called their roadside assistance to advise I drive the truck back to the truck back while holding the door closed!!!! the staff at the u-haul shrugged their shoulder and gave me a $50 dollar voucher for the next rental!!!

Was renting a van and arrived way ahead of time. There was a very long line to pick up the van. One of the employees told me to use the online checkin to pick up my van.So I left the line because you beed to go outside to find the van as part of the online checkout. The last step told me that the online checkout is not possible after going through it for 20 minutes. Not only did I loose 20 minutes but also had to get back to the end of the line and needed to wait additional 20 minutes.Very disappointing process to pick up the van.

Booked a truck, paid to reserve it. Got confirmation. Less than 24 hours before our pick-up, got a call telling us our truck was at a center 1 hour away because someone dropped it off "at the wrong location." Uh, ok. How the f*** is that OUR problem? Oh, right, you're MAKING it our problem. Long story short, if you want a truck that will definitely be there for you to pick up when AND--crucially!--WHERE you need it, do not use this center. You might end up having to waste two hours on moving day getting a hold of it.

I don't understand how these scam artists are in business. I paid for a uhaul upack box for the month = 159$, then hired uhaul sponsored movers to pack the box= another 300$ I had to ship my stuff (uhaul box) across the country = 2200$ These clowns then bill me another 159$ for storage. Stating that if I use the box it's still technically storage at their facility ...Even though this box is in transit and isn't even in storage. Last I checked there was a difference between "shipped" and stationary storage , so while it is actively being delivered to my home I'm being billed monthly storage fees at a location my box isn't at. So beware. Even if your upack is in transit they'll still bill you as if it is being stored at their facility when it isn't. How does that work when your box is in transit and it is delayed? Why do we have to pay extra for their issues? Logical people see the fallacy here. This is some fine print scam bs they use to con more money from you. 2200$ isn't enough uhaul? Your mega corporation needs more money? Maybe Tell your corporate overlords to calm down. If I could give zero stars I would. Additionally , The agents at park slope are not helpful or accommodating. Uhaul sucks I will never use them again.

We came here to rent a truck to help us move and the experience was excruciating. There was hardly anyone here and the people they had was so slow and acted like they didn't want to be there. They have advertise a $19.95 rental rate but, that doesn't include the mileage, the CDW coverage, environmental fee, and any tolls (they charge these much later). The process to return the van wasn't explained properly but, glad they were opened later than other locations.

Ridiculously long and extremely slow moving line full of angry customers. Incompetent, rude counter staff. Confusing instructions picking up and returning. $19.95 cargo van really cost $65. NEVER AGAIN.

I made a reservation with U-Haul about a week in advance for a 15' Truck. about 4 days before my move I decided to add some boxes to my order. Unfortunatly as I was adding the boxes a notification poped up advising me that my truck was no longer availible at my location and would have to be picked up from a location 10 minutes further out. no worries I thought I can handle 10 min. I decide to log into my account and make sure everything is as it should be, to my confusion I see I now have 2 reservations for the truck, 1 in either location. Alright, I'll just call and figure this out. I get on the phone and after sitting on hold I'm told that the 1st reservation is not availible and has to be canceled, I responded sounds good as long as the 2nd is in order. to make along story short they apparently canceled both orders, The manager was no help and got me a new reservation 1.5 hours away. Can I get the $50 gaurranty? Nope you didnt go to the location so it doesent qualify. Ok he has got a point. Anayway a day before the reservation I get a call from U-Haul, turns out no trucks at the 3rd location either. But good news they can give me a truck at the 2nd location (15 min away) great, I ask what time is the pickup? Same as always 8 am. Perfect! So I show up 8 am Sharp at the location, Guess what? its closed, seems they only open at 9, So I call up this time pretty upset, the agent apologises, compleatly agrees with me and says I should get the $50 gaurranty at this point but tells me thats customer services department. So my last call goes out to customer service, which informs me that no i dont qualify as the records show i made and canceled 3 reservations and no wonder they could not accomadate me. at this point I do what I should of done in the begining, and check U-haul reviews. turns out I'm one in a million who found out the hard way U-haul is not as honest as assumed. They have been sued for this very issue. I hope people learn from my mistakes and stay away from U-haul if a truck is whats needed for a time sensative move. (They told me an agent would be in touch to investigate, will update, but based off other reviews I've seen nothing will come of it)
