From the moment you walk through the automatic doors, you know you're in for a different kind of shopping experience. Hy-Vee isn't just a grocery store; it's a destination that truly understands how to blend quality, convenience, and exceptional customer service into one seamless and enjoyable trip. The first thing that always strikes me is the impeccable cleanliness of the entire store. Floors shine, shelves are perfectly faced and fully stocked, and the whole environment feels bright, welcoming, and well-organized.
The produce department is an absolute feast for the senses. It’s a vibrant rainbow of freshness, from lush, leafy greens and perfectly ripe, colorful fruits to exotic offerings I can't find anywhere else. Everything is meticulously arranged and clearly fresh, which makes choosing healthy options an easy and appealing decision. This commitment to quality extends throughout the entire store. The meat department offers beautifully cut, premium selections, the seafood is always fresh and well-presented, and the deli counter boasts an incredible variety of high-quality cheeses and meats sliced exactly to your preference.
However, what truly sets Hy-Vee apart and makes it worth every penny is the incredible array of prepared foods and unique departments. The Market Grille offers fantastic sit-down meals, while the Asian and Italian sections provide delicious, quick, and authentic dinner solutions for busy weeknights. I frequently stop by the sushi counter, where a skilled chef prepares rolls that rival any dedicated sushi restaurant. The bakery deserves its own praise, filling the air with a heavenly aroma and offering everything from artisan breads to decadent, beautifully decorated cakes for any occasion.
Finally, the heart of Hy-Vee is its people. Every single employee I have ever encountered, from the cheerful person stocking shelves who offers to help me find an item, to the knowledgeable pharmacists, to the efficient and friendly checkout clerks, operates with a “Helpful Smile in Every Aisle” attitude. It’s this unwavering commitment to going above and beyond that transforms a routine chore into a genuine pleasure. Hy-Vee is a premium experience through and through, and it is, without a doubt, my absolute favorite grocery store.

Outdated bakery items..molded. packaging that was spilled on and cooler items that were warm. Im 4.1 miles from 3 different hy-vee, and have been going here daily for years. Ill try the other 2 places more often now. Pay attention management.

I just want to express my deep appreciation and gratitude to the bakery dept. Today I called in to see if they had their wonderful sticky caramel buns. They were out but he said he'd bake more of them and told me to come pick them up in a couple of hours. When I arrived the sticky buns were warm and fresh.Awesome and incredible service!!!!

This location is consistently overpriced compared to others in the area. My go to is the Gretna location and after checking prices almost everything was priced higher here. A simple bottle of ibuprofen was $4 more expensive with less fuel saver rewards. They wouldn’t price match either. This example isn’t an anomaly and seems to be the norm. Do yourself a favor and avoid this location unless you love being ripped off!

I went there to pick up my prescriptions. Hyvee has competitive pricing. I called ahead, and they told me all of them were ready. That wasn't true. The lady I dealt with was rude. Gave me a hard time about usually Good RX app for pricing. I won't go back. Costco is competitive as well, and staff there are amazing.

Taylor at the front Customer Service desk was very rude and unprofessional when I went in to ship a package yesterday. Was rude throughout the entire interaction, lied to me multiple times to either try to not have to make a USPS shipping label for me (told me "We are out of labels" even though you print them off and she was able to do so) as well as lying about not being able to put a recipients name or return address on the package. When I told her I knew this all was not true her response was "well I just don't know what to tell you". Extremely rude tone and bad attitude the entire time. If you hate your job and your customers that much maybe you need to go somewhere else. I have already contacted the store management by email about this matter, as well as filed a complaint with the USPS for this location in regards to her behavior. Not the person i would want running my Customer Service department.
