The Durham Museum is located in the historic Union Station in downtown Omaha, offering a fascinating look at regional history and broad-ranging traveling exhibits. The beautiful architecture itself is a sight to see. Visitors of all ages find something to enjoy, from the permanent exhibits like the trains to walk through, the model trains, and the huge coin collection, to the wonderful rotating special exhibits. It is a fabulous museum for everyone, including little kids, with room for them to move and often kid-friendly components. The experience is fun and well worth checking out, easily filling a few hours. While some find the layout a bit difficult to navigate, requiring some backtracking, the museum is very clean and roomy. Highlights include the short film about Omaha, the soda fountain, and the enormous Christmas tree during the holiday season. The staff are noted for their kindness. Many visitors find a membership to be worthwhile and return often with family and grandchildren.
The little diner they have is THE cutest! Really enjoyed their rootbeer floats

I stayed so long I got hungry and had to leave for a meal. I would have stayed even longer if not for dietary restrictions. It had trains I could walk on, video games from my youth, and extensive history of Omaha.I highly recommend this place for train and history lovers!

The Durham museum and Union station was fun. The kids enjoyed the trains and the exhibit for toys that was going on. I enjoyed the short film area that talked about Omaha. Gift shop is small and overpriced but all in all on a rainy day you can fill up a few hours easily.
