It is directly south of Walker Lake. The depot covers 147,000 acres (59,000 ha) or 226 sq. mi. and has 600,000 square feet (56,000 m2) storage space in 2,427 bunkers. HWAD is the "World's Largest Depot" and is divided into three ammunition storage and production areas, plus an industrial area housing command headquarters, facilities engineering shops, etc.”

“I left my wallet at this gas station and didn't realize it until I was 4 hours past it on my way home to Idaho. Thankfully Google tracks every move that I make so I was able to backtrack my stops on Google maps and find where I left the wallet. When I called, the clerk was so friendly and helpful. Quite a contrast from the customer service I've been experiencing the previous two weeks in Los Angeles. Friendly down to earth people. The salt of the earth. I'll always stop here to get gas for the rest of my life if I'm driving through here. Please pay them your business they deserve it.”
