Big 5 Sporting Goods is a traditional, full-line sporting goods store offering a broad selection of products. This includes athletic shoes, apparel, and accessories, as well as equipment for team sports, fitness, camping, hunting, fishing, golf, and winter and summer recreation. The store is noted for its large parking space and variety of goods. Customers frequently highlight the great deals, weekly deals, and monthly discounts, noting that prices are much cheaper than in some other countries. The staff is consistently described as very knowledgeable, courteous, helpful, and professional, often going above and beyond to assist. For gun owners, it is one of the few places where you can still shop and browse ammo. While most experiences are positive, some feedback indicates that service can vary between staff members. Overall, it is a highly recommended store for finding a wide range of sporting goods without breaking the bank.
