Downtown Container Park is a very cool place to visit, built from shipping containers with a visually interesting design. It features a massive metal and fire-breathing mantis at the front and relaxing live music on stage, making for a great little getaway. The place is great for kids, for grabbing coffee with a friend, or for reading a book. It is a kid-friendly and chilled out quieter place just off the strip, with plenty to do. There are lots of little independent shops in each of the containers, including a really cute store with fun stuff and a store where everything is $5.99. Plenty of places offer a nice cold drink, whether a soft drink, cocktail, or beer. One container is a bar known for the best toasted cheese sandwiches, and the upstairs restaurant serves good food as a refreshing stop. Some shops close mid-day for lunch, so visiting early morning or later afternoon is best. It is a lovely way to finish an evening, though it is only kid-friendly until 9 PM.
