My son’s double bass broke in December I contacted Absolute Music through their text number right away. It was after hours and I did not expect an answer until the next day. Within a half hour of sending the message I was contacted back with an estimated quote of how much it would cost to repair. We took it in and the bass was exactly the cost they said in the text and they completely repaired it and even cleaned it up. Will definitely use them again and purchase items from them again.

I recently went to Absolute Music to get an old saxophone that was gifted to me back into playing condition. I did not realize just how bad of shape the horn was in, but after a quick once over John let me know exactly what would be needed to get the horn back into playing condition, the cost it would take, which is very reasonable by the way, and approximately how much time it would take to complete the repairs. Seven days later, I've returned to the shop in order to play some newer saxophones, as I I've never played on a newer saxophone and wanted to know what that was like. While waiting, John informed me that my repairs were actually done ahead of schedule and I was able to pick up the horn sooner than expected. My saxophone is no top of line model, but with Absolute's help I am now able to practice effectively towards my goal of improving. I cannot recommend absolute enough for their courtesy, professionalism and kindness, and helping me get my horn back into condition and working with me as an adult (mid-30s) returning to playing. I will absolutely be going back to them for my future needs

I am so beyond happy with Absolute Music! I have been hunting for years for a Bari Sax and they happened to have a nice one in the shop. They stayed late and gave me great customer service, making sure I walked out with it that night! I can not recommend them enough.Daria Powell

Wow, what an amazing music shop. I was looking for a short term guitar rental while on vacation and did not think I would find one, but then I found out about Absolute Music. If you are a musician, have a kid who plays an instrument, need equipment or supplies, or even want lessons, I highly recommend checking out Absolute Music. In addition to being a great shop, the staff is awesome. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The best part was that the owner, Steve Gibson, was in that day and I got to have a great conversation with him. Talk about a guy that just loves music and cares about people. He's really amazing. He even regularly goes to Washington DC to fight for funding for music education. If you get a chance to go by the shop, be sure to say hi to Steve. His love of music will brighten your day!

Just want to say. I sent a message to them on the way from Monterey county asking if my sax could be fixed the same day before heading out to perform at a festival in Salt Lake City. I showed up less than an hour before closing. Jon Bently was able to fix my sax within 15-20 minutes and had me play it to ensure I was happy with what was done. I live in Monterey county but will be back in Reno to play another festival. I will be stopping by to have Jon look over both of my saxophones before I play the festival. I say all of this to say. Thank you Jon. You saved me from a weekend of struggling to keep myself in tune.

My husband wanted to borrow a guitar during our stay and Steve (the Owner) was more than accommodating for our request. He not only loaned him a guitar, he also provided a strap and soft case. After talking with the Owner, it is obvious that he is passionate about music and shares that passion with each of his customers.

I love working with Absolute Music. They have helped three of my children through various instruments over the last seven years. I always find the staff to be friendly, informative and fun. I always appreciate their opinions and expertise when helping me. Karl has been providing music lessons with us for the last seven years and is PHENOMENAL. Our oldest started the saxophone seven years ago, our middle started lessons three years ago and we just started our youngest on the clarinet. He has taught the lessons for all three. I could not imagine lessons elsewhere. His talent, patience and love of music is the best. Jon Bentley recently did a tune up and repair service to make sure the oldest kiddos sax is ready to head back out to another college marching band season. He did a great job. I appreciated his communication and care with the instrument. He is great and very knowledgeable. Steve is the owner and his love of music and serving the community is very evident. I am grateful for this group of people at this business who have helped cultivate a joy for creating music with my family. Thank you!

Very unprofessional and disappointing experience. Needed a quick turnaround on a guitar setup and repair. Called around town at different places. Spoke on the phone with John Bentley, and he told me he could have my guitar setup and repaired within a week. About "...an hour to do the work", he said. So I dropped it off that day. Luckily I had a backup guitar, because it was 3 weeks of unprofessional excuses: 1. From there being a single holiday in the middle of everything. 2. Them going to the NAMM show. 3. Not having the right allen tool for adjusting the bridge saddles, and constantly forgetting the needed tool at his home for 7 days straight after he told me that was the only thing holding him up. . . Who tells that to a customer anyway? I ended up spending the money on better tools and just repairing it myself. This was a disappointing waste of time.

was looking to do a short-term rental for my teenage boys from Minnesota to play at my small (14 people) wedding. for 2 days they quoted a price that was 3x what they charge for a monthly rental, or the equivalent of more than 30x on a daily basis.
