“The growth of this store over the years has been heartwarming to watch. I used to visit the old location over towards the west side of Reno. And this new location is so exciting to see. Two stories with CAT ADOPTIONS inside?! So awesome. Great job guys. The staff is always friendly. I’ve found some truly cool stuff at this new location. And I really feel like it’s one of the few thrift stores that has great prices still.
Check it out! Love walking my pup around inside while I’m shopping. It’s helped with her nervousness of new places and we are super grateful for their treat at checkout!”
“The store is very clean and has great quality items at decent prices. They have frequent sales with items that are 50% off -- great buys! It is a non-profit facility that helps many organizations in the community, so the money you spend helps people!”
“I see them all the time picking up trash, giving directions, information and recommendations to visitors. They do a great job keeping downtown clean and safe ?
The workers definitely need a pay raise for how much they deal with on a daily basis.”

“Wanted to give you a big Thank You for your assistance and help in my recent attempt at a job search."Recently I was made aware of a career opportunity as a Senior Contracts Manager for a major corporation. This corporation holds major contracts globally throughout the Department of Defense enterprise. Since I had decided to 'retire' early over a year ago, I was a bit out of date with current resume trends; and definitely rusty at interviewing, as the last time I interviewed was some time ago.I had known about the Work for Warriors program, and the team; but had never contacted them about using their services. Seeing as I was a bit out of date, I decided to reach out to them and see what they could do.Using the on-line registration at the Work for Warriors Nevada website was easy and very straight forward. Questions were asked to build a profile of what you were looking for job wise, and what assistance you thought you needed. At the end, an email was received informing me that a Employment Coordinator would be reaching out to me shortly. The next day, I received an email from Mr. Baker, and was provided links for research and a request to contact him for setting up an appointment. Setting up the appointment for the next week, I got together my information, updated my existing resume and LinkedIn profile, per some of the suggestions I received from James.Upon meeting with Mr. James Baker, and Mr. Kevin Stein at the Reno office, I was greeted by two gentlemen who were both professional and friendly in their demeanor, and were obviously very knowledge and extremely talented at what they do. During the time there, I also met and conversed with several of the other clients who stopped by to give updates. You could tell that they were happy about the outcomes, and appreciated the services that had been provided; and also that real bonds had been created. James and Kevin have a knack of threading humorous comments and anecdotes throughout a conversation to keep the mood light, and to keep people smiling. Considering the jobs they do, and how people are typically nervous about writing or talking about themselves to strangers; this is an effective tactic to help people relax. We spent a couple hours creating a new resume for me, with a different format, and during that time, we discussed interviews, job market, and how the workplace has evolved over the past few years.Afterwards, James kept in contact with me as I went thru the application and interview process, asking questions, providing guidance, encouragement, maybe even a nudge or two. Additionally, he also identified another career opportunity that looked like a good fit for me, and forwarded it to me to look over. After a couple of interviews, and an offer letter was received, James listened to my thoughts and concerns about preparing a counter-offer letter. His advice was spot on, as the response had a 22% increase in starting salary! Can't give enough thanks and kudos to the team! Their efforts to assist and help fellow Veterans, Active Duty, National Guard, and their families is more than above the bar - they twist it, reshape it, and set-it up as high as they can go - and then proceed to jump over it - to prove that not only do they enjoy helping you, but they will go the extra mile to help you in achieving that employment or career goal that you have in mind."Thank you for all that you've done, do, and whatever you may do in helping others like me in the future.Regards,Curt Schermerhorn”

“Local eateries, walkable avenue bustling with small businesses, vintage shops, and cool bars, breweries and eats, Arario asian fusion is a fave. L∆✓€ this District and so much more walkable than Vegas without escalators, clouds of cigarette smoke, navigating through 3 casinos to cross the street HaHa”
“This place genuinely cares for their students. They want to see you succeed entirely. Grateful for NNLC. So many resources available for parents, youth, and people of all cultures. The front desk people are friendly and helpful.”
“I was a guest at the Reno Elks Lodge Friday, 23 September 2022, so this review is only for that day. The Reno Elks Lodge hosted the annual local Veterans Stand Down which is an annual outside event going on nationwide every September. Veterans Stand Downs are typically one- to three-day outside events during which VA (US Department of Veterans Affairs) staff, community groups, state Veterans divisions, and volunteers provide free food, water, clothing, footwear, toiletries, health screenings, bedding, Veterans pins, Veterans stickers, hats, gloves, scarves, plants, P-38 can openers, many various items for Veterans' pets, hand warmers, sun glasses, Veterans key chains, sea bags aka barrack bags as well as wheeled suitcases to homeless and at-risk Veterans and any Veteran and Veteran's family who wants to attend. In addition, Veterans also receive referrals for VA enrollment, health care, housing solutions, employment, substance use treatment, mental health counseling, transportation, computers, benefits, telehealth, mst counseling, quitting smoking, nutrition and weight management, exercise, and other essential services. So, there were a lot of VA departments, community groups, the state Veterans division, volunteers, and Veterans at this Washoe County, Nevada Veterans Stand Down. The Reno Elks Lodge did an adequate job of organizing and operating this large event. Which is saying a lot as this event required a lot of coordination with a lot of VA departments, community groups, state Veterans division, and volunteers. The event was set up in the very large parking lot. The Reno Elks Lodge brought in and always kept clean Sani-Huts to serve the very large crowd. They placed plenty of garbage cans throughout this very large and very spread out event. They had a PA system setup with a man who went to each participating VA department, community group and state Veterans division and had them each briefly say what they do.The local Navy JROTC performed the opening American Flag ceremony, and did it well, and with reverent dignity. We Veterans responded with equal reverent dignity.Inside the Lodge, VA medical staff gave me this year's flu shot. I found the Lodge itself to be beautiful, clean and well-maintained.elks.org/lodges/home.cfm… elks.org/programs/news.c… washoeschools.net/domain…The Katie Grace Foundation yelp.com/biz/katie-grace… was there. Although they had previously boasted in their advertising "Katie Grace Foundation will be there to offer a hot meal." they had NO hot meal offered there.”
