Our experience picking up a rental vehicle from Dollar was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Despite having a confirmed online reservation and arriving with printed documentation in hand, the pickup process took over an hour to complete.
We were informed that the vehicle would not be released to us unless we provided a return flight number. We had traveled to Reno on a Caesars charter flight and did not have a return flight number at the time of pickup, as our return details were to be provided upon departure from the casino. This requirement was neither communicated during the booking process nor disclosed in advance. As a result, I was forced to contact our casino host to obtain information that should not have been necessary to secure a pre-paid rental vehicle.
Compounding the issue, we were then told that the debit card used to make the reservation could not be accepted and that a credit card was required, followed by a statement that a credit check would be necessary if we proceeded with the debit card. We rent vehicles frequently and routinely use a debit card without issue, and we have never been denied a rental or delayed due to the absence of a return flight number.
This experience resulted in the unnecessary loss of more than an hour of our vacation time and reflected a lack of transparency, efficiency, and customer consideration. Based on this experience, we will not use Dollar Rental again and would not recommend them to others seeking a smooth and reliable rental process.

The young man at the counter was fabulous, friendly and helpful. The whole process took less than 5 minutes. The return was just as easy. Thank you, will definitely use Dollar my next trip

The rules around renting suvs are purposefully vague. Every time i rent one they cant tell me if its 4wd or not. Then i arrive and it never is. Then surprise they actual suv they have is double the price. This is bait and switch plain and simple. When a vehicle is rented you MUST say if its 4wd or not. You cant decide that when i pick it up.

The bald guy at the front desk was throwing a fit like a child. He had to stay 12 minutes past his time to help us and threw a fit like a 4 year old

I reserved a hybrid. I paid for a hybrid. I didn't get a hybrid. Really disappointed. Never renting from Dollar again. Also the desk at the location was closed and I had to wait forever to get my car at Hertz. Completely crappy customer service

The rental person at the counter was disrespectful and rude the line was 40 people deep they had inadequate help at the counter. The car was already booked to another person when I went out to pick it up and they had to issue me a different car. The whole rental experience was so dissatisfying that I would never book another car through dollar or it's a parent company for any reason at all in the future. I realize it is just the location because a month ago had a rental in Memphis Tennessee and everything was great. There no problem it was a wonderful experience this one was a pure disaster compared to that one.

We really liked the hybrid jeep wrangler , three days of sight seeing around lake Tahoe , Reno , Virginia city and sights between , and we only paid 35 bucks to top it back off. The jeep was easy to figure out . Roomy and not a hard learning curve to operate .

Vehicle was fine. We completed check in online where we were presented extra options such as insurance, gasoline, toll tags, etc (and after wanting to decline all extra options were met with double guilt-provoking questions, such as “are you sure”). We provided drivers license and a charge card at online check in. Upon arrival, we had to “pick up the rental agreement” at the desk. The line was long, and had to listen to all of the sales pitching again and the “are you sure” pitches. The agents weren’t interested at all that the line behind us was getting longer and longer. Im sure they work on a commission basis. I’m going with Alamo from now on

I rented a car from Dollar online. I went through a whole process of uploading my drivers license and so forth, Choosing insurance coverage, deciding whether to return the car filled with gas,to ensure there would be no wait at the airport. When I got to the airport, none of that mattered. I had to wait in a line. There were two few representatives serving customers. The whole thing was a nightmare.

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding an unacceptable experience I had when returning a rental vehicle to your location.
After returning the vehicle, I placed the keys in the drop box located at the Dollar counter—the only drop box at the end of the counter, clearly marked “Dollar.” Shortly afterward, I received a call from a Dollar employee accusing me of losing or taking the keys. I explained that I had followed proper procedure and placed them in the designated box.
The employee then suggested I might have left the keys in another drop box, asking if it had said “Hertz.” I replied that it said “Dollar,” and the employee insisted that “Hertz is Dollar.” If this is the case, I strongly recommend clearer labeling in the drop box area to prevent confusion. When I returned the vehicle, I walked back and forth to ensure I was placing the keys correctly, and no one was present to assist.
What I found most troubling was the employee’s rude and dismissive tone. I was told, “If we can’t find the keys, I’ll call you back and we’ll go from there.” This accusatory and unprofessional approach is not acceptable. I followed all proper return procedures, and being treated as though I was at fault was both frustrating and disrespectful.
I request that Dollar review this incident, ensure that your staff are trained in professional customer service, and improve the clarity of signage and procedures at your drop box locations. Customers should not be made to feel blamed or mistreated when they have acted properly.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.

Completely unacceptable service. Slow. Unorganized and incapable of the most basic level of customer service.
