Stood in line for 2 1/2 hrs to get a car then waited for another 45 minutes in the garage until they got me my car. Rented an SUV and declined the insurance coverage but got charged anyway. Dollar told me to talk to desk when I returned the car. I did, and the manager reluctantly gave me a credit, or so I thought. Now Dollar won't honor what the manager gave me. I thought Dollar being a Hertz company would at least have a small bit of integrity. What a disappointment. How about it Dollar... stand up and do the right thing? I travel a lot, Hertz and their companies Dollar and Thrifty are off my list until they make this right.Your response to contact management about the time delay is only half the problemWhat about the credit you refuse to honor? I will continue to share with everyone that your company is filled with hollow words and no real action

Absolutely the worst car rental experience I've had. We booked a car for pickup on Saturday at 11:00AM. We waited in line to get our car for about an hour and a half, then it took another half hour outside waiting for them to deliver the car. Total time to get our car was 2 hours! It took almost twice as long to get our car as it did to fly from Phoenix to Reno. Stay away unless you have tons of time to waste.

Waited 2 hours, then learned the "managers special" was an electric car that needed 40-50 hours charge after 180 miles. These details should have been disclosed when making the reservation online! Ended up paying $200 more for a gas vehicle because I didn't have 40-50 hours to charge the electric vehicle!

I really should've read the reviews before booking. You will definitely wait at least one hour before getting to the front counter. There was only one staff member (she was doing her best), but unfortunately, there was no additional help. And when another staff member did show up, she spent the time gossiping. Please book with Budget/Avis instead.

Unfortunate (0) stars is not an option. Upon return on a Sunday eve…very busy! Man says leave keys in car & we will email your receipt. A week later I get a bogus fuel bill, via snail mail, stating that I will be charged another $168+ as car was 14+ gallons light. I filled up (5) miles from airport.You call the 1800# provided, only to be told by computer, you have to submit a receipt for gas purchase. I have the receipt & am not concerned about getting money back. I am irritated that I have to waste my time correcting their mistake.More importantly, how many others are they conducting this scam on, hoping they will not fight it, or will just miss it in their vacation expenses.As many others mentioned, pay a little more and get some customer service & professionalism. Life’s to short to conduct business with hacks & crooks!

Charged an extra $570 AFTER we already prepaid through Expedia and they claim it was because we didn't fill up the tank and we got insurance for 4 days. Charged an extra hour late so they could get the extra insurance fees for a whole day, though it wasn't late! They fraudulently add all these fees to the card and hope you don't notice. Then they won't refund or make it right. Shame on you Dollar! Scammers and fraudulent!!

Avoid them!! Long long waiting time to pick up the rental car - I am talking about waiting for more than one hour at least. Also do not use their electric rental car ( they provided to me even I booked a gas car) , at Lake Tahoe you will find so hard to charge them ( not Tesla chargers ). Was a nightmare to look for charging at Lake Tahoe area with limited availability then had some are malfunctioning.

Under no circumstances rent from Dollar or thrifty with pick up at the Reno airport. It is a 2 1/2 hour wait, at least mid day. They have one person who takes at least 15 minutes per party, and there’s typically a line of 20 to 30 people. It’s unheard of I know, but that’s what it is. Pay more elsewhere.

UPDATE: Dollar responded politely to my review, seemingly in an effort to make things right. But in further communication with them, they have not offered to credit me for what feels like a textbook definition of financial fraud. So my suggestion to avoid Dollar at the Reno - Tahoe airport remains.I would definitely avoid Dollar out of the Reno airport. The wait from when I entered the line to when I had a car was roughly 90 minutes. Everything was chaotic and unorganized.At the counter, I asked if I could switch the reservation from economy to standard. They told me it would normally be $60 / day, but they could do it for $20 / day. I agreed. I checked their website today, and see that for same time period next week, a standard car is $1.50 / day more than an economy car. That seems like financial fraud to claim that it is normally $60 / day more, when it just isn't.

I've been waiting for well over an hour for my car. I suspect it'll be an hour and a half before I get my car, assuming they have the one I already paid for.The line has moved more from people going to other counters, rather than being helped.It's really obvious from the reviews that this counter is continuously understaffed. Next time I'll be renting from Budget or Enterprise.

Awful and extremely slow service every time I come through here. Dollar Rental Car didn’t even have anyone working their desk. They had their customers go through Hertz. Thanks for the hour wait. Please provide a discount for the preventable delay that was caused.Hi Dollar, you just responded to my Google review with the same automated response but no action taken. Please provide a discount. This is preventable as in Dollar intentionally is making customers wait for over an hour.

Listen to other reviews. So understaffed that you will wait hours in line to pick up a car while every other line fills and empties multiple times. Your time isn't worth it. Pick any other car rental service.

Dollar Rental Car intentionally manipulates customers. They don't staff their own customer counter and instead have their customers wait in an extensively long line in Hertz (2 hours) while advertising that they provide great customer service. It would be permissible if this was an isolated experience but if you look at other customer reviews, Dollar has been manipulating customers for months. Don't rent from Dollar. Spend the money elsewhere for a quality start to your time in Reno.
