I arrived at the Hertz desk at 11:45pm and nobody was there. I had to take a cab to my hotel

I had reserved a Ford Edge or similar for pick up at Reno airport on 10/15/25. Though I am a Gold member, Hertz requested all Gold members to stop at the desk near baggage claim to check in. I waited no less than 30 minutes to do so. Once checked in, I was told to go to the garage and get the keys for my vehicle. Once there, I waited another 15 minutes to get the keys. When I located my car, it was a surprised to find a Jeep Wrangler that barely fits me and the three passengers with me. We were already late for an event and I wasn’t about to wait on another line. This Jeep Wrangler is definitely not comparable to a Ford Edge and I should not be charged at that rate level.

Make sure y'all change your paper work to show the real gas level in the car. I had it given to me with 10% left. They said dont worry give it back with the same amount. I did that and they charged me $11.33 per gal to fill it up completly. Thank God I got a case number beforehand.

I had one of the worst experiences at this company. Coming back home from my vacation with my baby sister in the car we experienced a flat tire. I paid for full coverage on the vehicle and when I called the emergency roadside assistance, they told me they would send someone out within 44 minutes, When I called 44 minutes later, they told me that the driver was in route to me and would be on scene within seconds. Nobody ever showed up and I got a text that my service had been completed and to give them a survey. I called again and requested another person to assist us. They said they would send someone out, in 44 minutes. Nobody showed up when I called again. They told me that the closest person was 3 1/2 hours away. And that they had canceled my service without telling me. By the time I called for a third person, a police officer showed up and offered to assist me and my sister. We were in the middle of nowhere on the side of the interstate in a dangerous location, we were stuck on the side of the road for five hours with not a single store in sight. This company left me and my sister out there to fend for ourselves when I paid for the full coverage for a reason, I’ve never been more disappointed in my life. There were no hotels so we could not spend the night in the little town we were now in. We slept in our car in the next day. My dad came to get us and take us to a shop to get the tire properly changed, hertz wouldn’t pay for it initially, but told us that they would reimburse us by the time we got back to Reno we had put 600 miles on our own car when the whole reason we rented a car was to save the miles on our car. they gave us no answers and no help so disappointing. Do not use the service.

Thank u, my First-time renting fr Hertz. The Agent's friendliness. Their pricing a bit up of a (1%) percent but, their vehicles were new. Reasonable.

Not happy with the vehicle we were given. Didn’t want a Kia.

The experience from beginning to end was a nightmare. When trying to rent online, it went to Expedia. I actually rented the same car for the same dates by mistake and they still charged and would have charged again if we didn’t book with them at all. With them being the “leading car rental company” in the US you would have thought the company would have better service. Expedia blamed Hertz for not refunding the $100. Hertz said we had to inquire with Expedia. With customer service failing across all of America, this is just another disappointment. Be cautious using Hertz and Expedia. They will use small print rather than common sense and courtesy. Paul Babcock, Ankeny, Iowa

I really like hertz in general and use them when I travel. This particular hertz was a little more like lord of the flies. The booths are empty and you kind of have to wander around to find someone. They didnt have a car for me (I had reserved in advance of course). So I just had to kind of stand around for an hour before a car showed up and they washed it. Looks like they share staff with dollar and thrifty here so avoid those as well .

Excellent customer service and do not have to wait for long time to pick the car. Service with a smile and the vehicle choice was also great.

The one guy working the desk late night September 4th was calm and doing all he could to help about two dozen people in line. Shame on Hertz for understaffing this location and RUNNING OUT OF CARS! How does that happen? Doesn't the infrastructure know the inventory vs. reservations need to line up? Corporate, this is embarrassing. Maybe pay your workers more and get more of them. I don't write negative reviews. I had to break my streak for this miserable experience.
