We got to Thrifty after our flight and there was a huge line at Thrifty, while most of the other car rental agencies had no line at all. Everyone in the Thrifty line was angry. Despite the huge line, Thrifty had only one person at the desk. He was very friendly and helpful, but he was the only one there. After we waited almost an HOUR AND A HALF, we finally got checked in. Then we had to wait another 20 minutes while they prepped our car. I will NEVER use Thrifty again.

If I could put 0 stars I would. I have called a few times because I keep receiving calls that I have an over due rental car out when I dropped off on Monday. I called back Tuesday to let them know I dropped the car off Monday morning the man that saw me drop off the car told me to put the window down and drop the key in the cup holder. They have been trying to charge my card everyday since and when I call they keep saying the same thing they will put in a request to close the rental like what ??!!! They have on hold $282.00 I also paid UPFRONT $109.00 and at the airport I PAID $81.00 in extra tax fees. THATS $471.00 of my money that this company has taken and is holding on to.. mind you I got the cheapest car I got an economy based car. I also tried to contact the service and billing department for all the other charges that have been trying to go through and they were no help because my RENTAL IS STILL OPEN ! These people are a fucking joke they should have more empathy with us customers and this ridiculous economy! This has really put a burden on me and it even put a burden on my trip I was barely able to make it back with enough gas for these ass wipes. I need more urgency from this company and from its affiliated companies.

Hi, I returned the car today at Reno airport and the person in charge was very aggressive . We cleaned the car in the wash car inside and outside and ( I have the pictures) and the apoplexy in the airport says that I have to pay 500$ and the receipt says accepted and I was fighting with them for hours because the paper says "excessively dirty" and the car was just taken from the car wash that's why I didn't accepted so they are lying because I never accepted anything till I talk with a supervisor by they didn't allow me. Also they charge me 1extra day when I had to return the car at 12/noon and they sum 11minutes because we were fighting but we arrived before 12 so I totally disagree and I want to open a complain and escalate this matter because IFelt scammed and I will return the charge with my bank in case you don't attend my complain, wait to hear from you ASAP. I would like to share all my pics as proof

We had to wait almost an hour for our car and they don't review the damage on the car with you. When we turned it in, they said leave it there and leave the keys in the car. OK but I was charged for a tank of gas! I filled it up a few miles from the airport! I received the bill of $114 to put in 9 gallons of gas. When I filled up the car it only took 7. I had to download my receipt, which I had, and send an email. I finally got a refund but not for the full amount. I had to call for the remaining $6.48. It was a small amount but it was the principle! Will not rent from them again.Christina

If I gave them negative score, I would. I paid for the car rental on Expedia in full. When we arrived to pick up the car, was told we owed $54 more in taxes and than $89 more to add my spouse to drive the car. All other car companies add spouse without a charge, but this is a gimmick to charge people more. We ended up dropping the car off in another location than Reno, the staff over the phone said I would need to speak with office staff when I returned the car to get my cooperate discount and they would add it to take away the cost $399 for returning in another location. When I returned the car, they wouldn't honor it. The original cost I paid was $548 for a week of 7 seater SUV, at the end, it costed me $1178. They are a rip off. Never again Expedia and Thrifty.

Do NOT rental pickup at the Reno airport! Take an Uber to an offsite rental pick up location 1. Waited 1.25 hours in line to claim my prepaid rental car at counter. (agent said this was typical.)2. Counter Transaction took 20 minutes.3. currently on 45 minutes. Still waiting for a car to come. I missed about 20 unhappy people in the garage. People are waiting over an hour. Thrifty does not just give you the first car in the class you purchase. They assign you a specific car. If that specific car is not back, you must wait. In fairness, this seems to be exactly the experience across all rental agencies at the Reno airport but it's unbelievably confusing and frustrating.

Renting a car with them was pleasant, easy and relatively quick for being in the airport. The gentleman who helped me at the front desk was friendly, gave me options of a brand new vehicle and explained everything nor was he pushy on extras. The only thing that was a little confusing and why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars was the drop off piece. They had so many people dropping off the cars and only one man reviewing the cars so I had to hunt him down and get his attention to give him the keys.

Worst rental experience I've ever had. Poor communication and poor customer service. Had to take an Uber to my first appointment because I waited in line for an hour for my car. Left without it and came back to wait another hour. I will never rent with them,Hertz or Dollar at the airport location again.

Doesn't deserve even 1 star, 1st had to go walk across the parking garage to find car, the car made it just out of parking garage before car had a system fail and locked up, walked back to rental spot and they tod me could possibly do anything till there company tow truck people reply which after 2 hr 30 mins wait they never did and only did anything after police showed up and threatened to tow it, still an hr later after tow and being told there waiting to be dropped at the lot to verify that it's there. The j*** working the counter told me I'm SOL till tow people call. Would not recommend and will to Better Business Bureau for charging for a non functional vehicle but claimed it was inspected and working

If I could give ZERO or negative stars I would. The rental car situation in Reno is just flat out horrible, and unacceptable. I planned a trip to Reno / Tahoe for my girlfriend's birthday, and we booked everything months in advance. Upon arriving to the Thrifty rental desk, there was a sign that said to go to the Hertz counter for Thrifty & Dollar rentals. Once there they took 2 preferred members before us. We were then told there were no more cars available, and that we should try back at 1pm which was 3 hours from then. There were other people there as well that had been told the same thing before, and after us. We tried every other rental counter, and was told everyone was out of cars. How does a whole resort town run out of rental cars in every rental agency in the city?!?!?! We noticed that they had cars to rent to their hertz preferred members, but not the regular customers which I feel is complete BS!! Finally after an hour & a half wait we were rented a vehicle. We were told by the lady at the counter that she's worked there for 10 years, and never seen anything like this. I knew that was BS too, cause after looking at reviews. I see that this is a quite common problem at this airport. Once we went in the parking garage to pick up our car we saw at least 10 other rental cars in spaces. How on earth is that possible if you're supposedly sold out?!!?! I guess those are for the Hertz preferred members... They gave us a number to their corporate office to complain, but it seems they are never open.

I thought the process to rent the car was easy. What is not funny I get a call 4 hours after returning telling me 300.00 fee for smoke cleaning will be charged I DO NOT NOR HAVE I EVER SMOKED.. My plain arrived and was barely able to rent the car before closing. Went in to ask about scratches and smells in car and no one around. Called next day told they would make a note of it but it was a newer vehicle all should be good. Called back to inquire about charging me cleaning fee voicemail no return call I am very unhappy. First and last time I will ever rent from them. Telling everyone I know what happened. Stay away they will find a way to charge you for something and since you no longer there to dispute in person you will be strung along

I was quoted $8 a day for a carseat and told I could not reserve one ahead of time, got there and was told its $15 a day! (Way overpriced!) And I could have reserved it! Also quoted $10 a day for INS. Was quoted an outrageous number when arrived. The car itself was great, no problems with it. The gentleman behind the counter was nice, but your phone customer service was awful! I will NOT rent from thrifty again. Also will post review on your site, BBB and other pages.

Car was fine, service was acceptable what was not acceptable was getting charged 300$ for a cleaning fee for smoking in car. 1st off I do not smoke and no one was with me to smoke in car. Second the car had over 22,000 miles on it definitely not a new car smell to begin with. Customer service is a complete joke and waste of a hour of my time. Will not be using thrifty again.

2 people to run the counter both times I used Thrifty in February 2020. Both times the rental agents took FOREVER with their customers with no realization the line was past the column. With only 5 people in front of me, it was almost 40 minutes until they got to me where as the other rental agencies had the same length of lines and their customers are gone. Thrifty needs to get 1-2 more rental agents to expedite this process.
