Honestly the worst stay I’ve ever had at a casino hotel. When you enter the valet there’s no ramp so if you have a stroller or wheelchair you have to walk around and go through the side of the building. There’s no flyers or booklets of information in our room so we had to call the front desk for information which takes forever. There’s no bellmen or luggage carts when we arrived so that was extremely unfortunate. We stayed for 3 days and housekeeping didn’t come once to our room I had to call for towels for my rooms. Plugs in the nightlights not working and honestly not one friendly employee I came across during our stay. Not a huge deal but the gym doesn’t open until 8am which is just an inconvenience but not deal breaker.

Their exercise room had 4 broken machines and super old equipment!! Ballys was a fitness place so you would think they would have a better fitness
Center!!! Harrahs and Ceasars fitness centers are 10-times better!!

First, the price is not too high provided the great location. Also the bathroom is quite big. The mini elevator at the main entence is not available when we try to move heavy languages upstairs. Luckly the valet parking staff helped me to life them up, otherwise I will have trouble there. The carpet in the room and hall way floor really need more frequent cleaning, I saw a few popcorns on the floor of 7th floor and stayed more than one day. Room service is not on time after a couple of calls.

Rooms are somewhat dated and a little worn. Seems like the casino/hotel is undergoing a lot of construction at the moment, which takes away from the experience. The casino doesn’t appear to be as popular as the others ones on the street. The cost is up there, but South Lake is popular so it’s a function of supply and demand, I suppose.

We only had dinner here and played in the casino for an hour.

Tried to make reservation . Called them directly to front desk to ask about parking and some other questions . Was on hold for almost two hours, nobody ever picked up phone , then my phone just died . Went to Golden Nugget across the street . Look at screen shot from my other phone .

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience at Bally’s Lake Tahoe was frustrating enough to warrant one.
During my stay, there was no hot water at all — not for a few hours, not for a night — but for the entire duration of my stay. I informed the front desk, and the response I got was completely unprofessional. Staff seemed indifferent, vaguely saying “engineering is working on it” with no updates or ETA. No apology, no explanation, no urgency.
When I asked about a refund or compensation, I was told that they “couldn’t offer that” or that I had to “take it up with corporate.” Basically, I was bounced around with no resolution, and the hotel made it clear they were not going to take responsibility for a clear failure to provide a basic service. A hot shower is not a luxury — it’s a minimum standard for any hotel, especially one charging resort-level prices.
There was also a general sense that the staff was unprepared and unwilling to handle guest concerns. No accountability, no guest care, just a dismissive attitude and a clear lack of training or authority to make things right.
This stay left me cold — literally and figuratively. I’ve since filed a dispute with my credit card because I refuse to pay full price for a room that didn’t meet the most basic expectations. I won’t be returning, and I’d caution anyone else to reconsider booking here unless you’re okay with cold showers and colder customer service.

Pillows were left on bed and chairs on check-in and no pillow cases. Good luck trying to find a bottle of water if the bars are closed. All vending machines except 1 were out and the one that did have water dispensed warm water bottles. Casino feels dated.

Room were ok, price ok, floor below standard. Casino needs a face lift. At best 3 star. No good food, and cafe won't split bill. Would not recommend, Reno better and is only 1 hour from lake. They don't even offer a Reno airport shuttle anymore. Charge for parking. Casino is dead till 10pm.

Man I wanted to say better things. But i’ll just be honest.
Our room was free… so beggars can’t be choosers I guess, but prob would’ve rather paid for a nicer place.
Room door did not close all the way unless you yanked it closed. Paint pealing or missing several places. Only two pillows per each queen bed. Ok.
Vending machines on hotel floors DO NOT WORK! Not only that, when it first happened the front desk laughed about it, then transferred me to the cage. ($3 isn’t that much to complain about on it’s own) who acted mad that I was sent to them. Then they said they’d give me a number to call the folks who service the machines. Hung up on me. Wife begged for a drink late night and I lost $6 more trying machines in the other floors. Eventually walked my butt to CVS..
The worst part of them mot working isn’t the $9. It’s that all the employees seem to know and no one cares. They laugh even. Just put up a sign or shut them off.
Pool is closed or open “whenever we can get a lifeguard to show up.” Pool is great! Great great! But if you can’t use it, like 2 separate times during our 3 day stay, then what’s the point?
Employees also have a poorer attitude than other places around. The whole property and atmosphere almost felt depressing.
But of construction too.
2 stars may be generous, but the location and pool (when open) are great.

My group and I played over $500 through the slots without a single feature or jackpot. We were in and out quicker than it took us to drink a $9 beer.

The first room they put us in smelt like mold or musty as soon as you walked in. My daughter's room had water damage and there was a whole in the ceiling in the bathroom. Their heater did not work either. The parking situation was a nightmare! The arms to allow you in never raised with your room key, you had to call everytime. Not a great experience!

The hotel, the casino and the restaurants desperately need renovations. Not all but many staff persons are listless and not trained, providing wrong or confusing information. The casino is almost empty. -- However; the 80s show is very entertaining and high energy. Lastly, the VIP hosts (Patrick and Nick) are awesome and saved our stay.
