I had an amazing experience this week at RBC while opening my first account there. I received excellent customer service from both Ashton and Ahmad and felt really taken care of and respected. I am so glad I have RBC now as my bank :) thank you so much!

Told the teller that I needed a cheque. She told me that “we don’t do cheques here” in a strangely angry tone. I think she thought that I meant a blank cheque.
She then informed me that if I wanted a cheque that it would cost $90 for a single cheque - not a chequebook - and that it would take 4 weeks to arrive.
I didn’t even need a blank cheque - I needed a certified cheque - but after the interaction and attitude, I left. Instead, I got a money order from Canada Post in about 5 minutes.
Very rude and honestly strange interaction.

I dealt with an amazing lady named Lisa Manderville she made things quick and easy and something I had previously been worried about was a resolved in less than five minutes!She was kind and solved my problems with a smile ?!So shout out to her for how pleasant she was to deal with!! ☺️ There is a woman called Lisa who is capable, fast and caring! I really appreciate the kindness and ability of the workers at this place (Queens Street)! my problems were corrected in almost five minutes with a smile

Gave them all the info for morgage and then never got back to us. Left messages on voicemail and tons of emails with no reply. Even reached out to bank manager and got no call back. Worst bank experience ever

Beware incompetent RBC agents, you'll phone one person, and they'll tell you the complete opposite of another. Admit fault, then screw you over for a pittance of an amount for a bank.Sent a money transfer that takes 5 days to arrive, notified the bank within a day that it needed to be canceled as the ligitment receiving company's banking information was hacked. RBC confirmed multiple times that the transfer was canceled. Phoned again before the 5 days was up to make sure, then told me it wasn't canceled and that we should wait until the money arrives to file a fraud claim. They finally filed the fraud claim, lost the money, and confirmed to me that it was the banks fault. Opened an appointment to get the complaint filed; the manager forgot about the appointment and left me waiting. The complaint was filed and took twice as long to process, then I get rejected despite them admitting fault. Now I need to file an appeal, then another appeal. In total, I must have phoned 10 representatives so far, they have admitted fault at the branch and from the fraud department, but still don't care, all a PR smoke screen for the banking lawyers who will happily shaft you. Goodbye $2500.

Honestly the worst bank I have ever dealt with. I've renewed my mortgage with them twice and each time I've been stuck with fees after signing the documents and locked in the mortgage. Terrible customer service and their "mortgage specialists" have no communication skills whatsoever. I was one foot out the door, they promise the world and then completely under-deliver on their promises. Avoid at all costs.

It's just another bank
