Very happy with my stay here while traveling between Burlington VT and Boston. Comfortable room, more character and better quality than a chain, and the restaurant is excellent.

I make no claim to be a restaurant Critic, but Joyce & I are "Recreational Eaters" and go out to restaurants a lot. This year we went to the Granite Room at the Centennial Hotel in Concord, NH for Valentine's Day - and it was the right choice. I had the Scallops that were listed on the menu simply as a "Chef Feature" preparation. It was the best meal that I can remember since Corey Fletcher was the Chef at the Colby Hill Inn in Henniker 10 (or more) years ago. And that's saying a lot. Corey now owns and operates the Revival Kitchen in Concord and we have gone there regularly for many wonderful meals, but this meal at the Granite Room really was a standout. A mélange of Root Vegetables was toped with a row of 6 Scallops. The balance of proportions between the vegetables and the Scallops was just right and the mixture of flavors was unique with each component part contributing equally to the total enjoyment. The only reason I put the Total Experience and Ambiance at 4 stars instead of 5 is the noise level. Although not nearly as bad as many other restaurants, the Granite room does suffer from the standard problem of having too many acoustically "hard" surfaces and too few "absorbing" surfaces. Still, better than most. We will be back.

Had reservation for 630. Got there a little early. Manager offered us a spot at the bar while we waited for our table. Food was amazing. Waitress was awesome. Will definitely go back.

First off nowhere did it state fixed menu for Valentine's Day so it started off dissapointing. Host didn't even seat us, she just pointed to the corner and said that's your table. No water nothing, waitress came about 20 mins later surprised we had no water. I ordered the filet and got two thin slabs of steak undercooked, definitely not Filet. My finance got scallops that were mushy and not even seared. Worst experience I've had there.

I thought it was pretty expensive for what we got. My fiancé ordered filet mignon and it came raw. He ordered medium rare. They did remake it for him and it was rare the second time around. They did comp our desserts for the error.

An absolutely beautiful hotel in a building rich with charm and history. Very reasonably priced, the staff were lovely, and I appreciated the continental breakfast. I would definitely stay here again!Rooms: Large, well appointed rooms with robes, comfortable beds, and tasteful detailsWalkability: A 20 minute or so walk to all that downtown Concord has to offerNoteworthy details: Beautiful circa 1800s building that used to be a group home affiliated with the state hospital across the street

I've been dining at the Granite Restaurant ever since I moved to Concord in 2017. In those years I've noticed a worrying decline in menu and service. It's not that they're not trying, but there is a lackluster to their menu - very limited offerings, nothing special, and no specials of the day. Service has varied from loud-voice clatter to gliding wanderings, seemingly not connected to the job. Waiting on tables is a difficult art, and hard to find the right person. I just wish there was a change for the better and brighter. Is pay an issue? On the maybe-plus side, you can hear your dinner partner talking - as well as the next table. It's a quiet white-table-cloth kind of place. I would recommend the Granite, with mentions above.

For that price point, one would expect a better experience. The food was good, though not outstanding, the service is friendly if a little clumsy, but the ambience (especially the lighting) is reminiscent of your local pharmacy. It may be worth having the wine list reviewed by someone with basic knowledge of geography: Austria is not a province of Germany... Given how good this restaurant used to be, this was a disappointment.

Very disappointed in our experience on December 22. In an empty dining room we were placed in a drafty corner with 2 windows. The bar adjoins the dining room with no noise barrier. The booming voice of the bartender was a big distraction. The server was quite nice and engaging. The food was forgettable. Very limited menu. 3 seafood dishes, one chicken dish and a $48.00 steak. The evening special sounded like the chicken already on the menu. The salmon was overcooked and served on a bed of....zucchinni. Based on past experiences, we expected much better for a $192 bill.

All three meals were below expectation. The special of the night, a Pork medallion, was overcooked. My burger was well done but I ordered medium. The shrimp scampi entree had 4 small portions of shrimp. I think the kitchen was most likely overburboned with serving the large Holuday party they were hosting. It was unfortunate because my wife's birthday dinner was a disappointment. Our server was very attentive and we made sure to tip her appropriately. The meals were not her fault.

Our normally focused waitress was distracted by her responsibility to trap a bat, so we waited 25 minutes before she took our orders. Then the 4 of us waited 45 minutes for our food, but my order was incorrect: fish instead of chicken, rice instead of mashed, so I waited another 40 minutes for that. Meanwhile no one let me know what was going on, and when the ill-trained dining room manager finally delivered my meal, he almost dumped it while moving around people on his way to our table. I actually saw my meal sliding off the dish, but luckily he righted the plate in time to save it. The gravy was right up to the edge in one corner! I was pretty upset when he put it on the table, so I told him I was not going to pay for the meal, at which time he got very defensive and told me he was just about to tell me that my meal was on the house.... Too little too late. I was starved, and having to wait an hour and 26 minutes for my food put me over the edge. We are your neighbors, so we visit quite often, but given that experience, and the fact that the chocolate mousse desert wasn't made in your kitchen, was covered in fake chocolate syrup, and was accompanied by fake whipped cream, makes us think that maybe you're not loner reliable.

Our dinner at the Granite Restaurant was spectacular! The waitstaff, entrees, ambiance and beverages from the bar were just perfect. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Concord area.
