Matt reviewed our list and showed us only options that met all our needs without any sales pressure, and managed to stay in good humor the whole time. Actually enjoyed the experience and left with the couch that is just right for our family.”

“I worked with Tina Forrester from Ethan Allen in Portsmouth to help me with kitchen island stools. I chose the maple Benham swivel stools. Tina came to my home with wood stain samples and fabrics to find what would blend best with my island, countertops, floors and backsplash. I love my stools; they swivel 360 degrees and are so comfortable to sit in for extended periods of time. I would highly recommend the design services at Ethan Allen in Portsmouth.”

“This place has a great selection with many interesting more unique types of plants. On top of that, the atmosphere is great - they have two cascading fountain lakes, a healthy flock of diverse chickens, and an impressive herd of goats. Inside the tropical greenhouse is a talking parrot. Lots of really well done landscaping surrounds the area. We gladly go here despite the long drive, always worth it.”

“Had a great experience there yesterday. Found a glass doorknob to replace a broken one in our 1910 home. Also found a great mahogany mantel to replace an unfortunate attempt at modernization. Wanted to note that I was impressed with the owner’s ability to keep cool and be diplomatic in a very difficult situation. Another customer was irate because she thought a couple pieces of hardware (no marked price) should be $5 because she claimed found them in a bin marked $5. The owner politely explained that another customer must have moved them there, because they were dissimilar to the items in the bin and they were $15 each, not $5. The customer was yelling and threatening bad reviews (all over a $20 discrepancy) but the owner was polite and calm throughout.”

“On Pleasant Street, how appropriate, because that's how the staff is here. Wonderful gourmet kitchen items such as teas, jelly, jam, Italian pasta, and sauce. Kitchen gadgets that make food prep so much easier. Gift baskets make for a terrific gift for that hard to buy for cook or dinner party host.”
“My wife & I recently purchased a condo in Dover, NH. During the purchase, our sellers real estate agent (Lisa Lally, ReMax NH) recommended that we contact Bob Rasmussen for our blinds and/or drapes (Blind Gallery, Stratham, NH). This was one of the better recommendations we received during the entire condominium purchase process!!
From the moment we walked into Bob’s shop, we were treated with the utmost care and respect as a valued customer. Bob took his time & patiently walked us through the many options we had available to us. Ultimately, we chose Hunter Douglas blinds and could not be happier with our choice. During the installation process, Bob and his son Joel came into our home and treated us like long time customers. They could not have done a better job during the installation and in programming our new (motorized) blinds. Great product, we love our blinds!!
Finally, after the sale was complete & the installation performed, I called Bob about one week later with some additional questions. Bob was very responsive and, once again, left me very satisfied with the customer service I continued to receive at the Blind Gallery. Our whole experience at the Blind Gallery in Stratham was a Home Run! We highly recommend Bob, Joel and the entire team as a first rate operation!! Thanks again, Bob!!”

“I visited the beach shop and was impressed by the great variety of souvenirs they offered. The prices were fair, and I ended up purchasing some lovely earrings and unique trinkets. It's a must-visit for beachgoers looking for mementos of their trip!”
“Came in on a Sunday afternoon and found the store to be stocked fairly well. It's an outlet so your luck depends on the day. Keep in mind that many of the goods like plates, glasses, and cooking tools are priced the same as in the retail stores. Given that there doesn't seem to be a retail store north of the ones in Boston, this was probably done to fulfill these customer needs without the need of paying for shipping to say, Portland or further north. I was told that they have occasional category sales, like glassware. During my visit it happened to be 50% off all rugs. Besides this, the bulk of your deals will be final sale furniture, which seems to be primarily floor models, returns, or damaged items. Damage varies greatly, from a few tiny chips to major finish damage and missing parts. Pieces are priced accordingly and are marked down 10% each week they remain on the floor. I found the staff very friendly and accommodating. A bench I was eyeing was priced lower online and after confirming this on their system, they sold it to me at that price instead”

“I had a great experience at this Stonewall Kitchen Outlet. They had lots of discounted food items. The kind of inventory an outlet store should have. No run in with a cranky manager. In fact, the staff were very pleasant. We will go there first next time. We went to the main store in York and thought the outlet had a better selection.”

“Stopped in while visiting Portsmouth for a couple of days and fell in love with this store. Lots of very tasteful nautical/New England themed home goods and apparel. I wanted to buy most everything in the store. And it was all so reasonably priced! The owner was very helpful and knew his products. Left with an adorable waterproof rain jacket and a cozy lined shacket for my husband.”
