Not surprising, given my picky dog loved them. Also very high quality jackets and sweaters. MUCH nicer than what I've seen in big box stores, and the prices are actually quite reasonable.

I got an iced matcha, Kuromi's style, and it was delicious! The folks running the shop are so sweet. Will definitely be back to try all the different styles!

I always get the lady boat (pictured) with no granola and my husband gets the avocado toast. Both are super fresh and satisfying.
Then the muffins, OMG, the gluten free muffins. I have celiac so I love that I can get any of the baked goods.
Blueberry muffins are packed with blueberry and there is a hint of cinnamon.
The one cookies are also delicious, as is the coffee.
Really can’t go wrong with anything you order. I wish there were Makana’s in other shore towns.

660 Cookman Ave, Asbury ParkTaka has become a non-negotiable stop every time I’m in Asbury Park. I’ve eaten sushi all over New Jersey, and between my friends and me, we all agree—this is hands down some of the best sushi we’ve ever had.
Every roll is beautifully prepared, incredibly fresh, and absolutely packed with flavor. Honestly, I’ve yet to have something I wouldn’t order again. The menu is consistently outstanding, making it easy to understand why this place has such a loyal following.
The restaurant itself is just as impressive. It’s stylish, well-appointed, and has a fun, lively energy without feeling overwhelming. Whether you’re there for a date night, dinner with friends, or just craving exceptional sushi, the atmosphere always feels inviting and polished.
The only reason this isn’t a perfect experience every single time is that the service can occasionally be a little inconsistent. Most visits are great, but every now and then things can be a bit slow or inattentive. Thankfully, the quality of the food more than makes up for it.
If you’re visiting Asbury Park, Taka is an absolute must. It has earned its reputation as one of the best sushi restaurants around, and it’s a place I recommend to everyone looking for an unforgettable meal.

The service was phenomenal and the food exceeded our (already high) expectations. Our guests commented on how excellent and unexpected the food was for days after the rehearsal, noting that the caliber and diversity of the dishes were better than they expected from an event like this. Even my father - who’s never touched a vegetable in his life - cleared his plate. It was not your average rehearsal dinner - it was 10x better.
Krystle in particular was amazing to work with. We were surprised and delighted when we came and saw that they made custom rehearsal dinner menus for our event - something we didn’t explicitly request but really appreciated. Wedding weekends are incredibly stressful and hectic, but Krystle & the rest of the team at Reyla set the weekend off with a bang. There was plenty of food and they even wrapped up our leftovers so that we could enjoy later. Very generous portions and a stunning atmosphere. Pop down to Laylow after your meal for more exceptional vibes and cocktails! THANK YOU! 🙏

When we arrived they took extra care for us to ensure that it was adhered to. The food and mocktails were incredible. The quality of the food was also very fresh 🤤.The staff was really nice and the bathrooms were clean. I’d give them a 6/5 if it was possible based off the great service alone, but the quality of the food and willingness to accommodate our seafood allergy really took them to the next tier. Will definitely return.
