“Really nice Masjid mashallah. If you’re going to Jummah the parking lot fills up asap so make sure to go early. They have produce boxes for members of the masjid who need them which I thought was really nice and thoughtful. The imam also gave a very nice khutbah and I definitely recommend listening to it all. There was even a cute cat at the entrance.”
“Nice spot. No servers interrupting the flow with drinks. Sound system is ok, certainly not state of the art. The smoke machine is right out of Spinal Tap :) Recommended.”
“I stumbled upon this cute place while exploring the city. I had never heard of a zine before but was in awe when I walked in. It’s easy to forget about time and get lost in all the zines and books. The staff is really kind and passionate about the arts. Savannah really took her time to show me what Zines are all about. I was really inspired by her. I can’t wait to come back in the fall when I’m in the city.”
“The Hudson pride center has welcomed me into a great community. I was introduced to the program by Kim and when I came for the first time Colleen and she made it feel like such a safe space where I was always welcomed. Over all it is a very inclusive and amazing place that I would recommend anyone to visit.”
“I loved visiting the Brooklyn Cat Cafe. Truly a great experience. You get to meet cats of all different personalities! I went twice and ended up adopting a lovely cat. You can tell how much thought and care the staff and adoption coordinator put into making sure every cat is healthy, safe and finds a good home. As a nonprofit, they do so much with the resources they have, and it really shows.”

“PLZ DONATE GENEROUSLY! This poor dog shelter desperately needs money, I sure hope the staff in the higher position are not taking a giant salary from the nonprofit money that comes in from donations. The staff were all great people that help and walk you through everything. Just a few cons. One, it’s a very old beat down place, almost extremely unsanitary to the point. There are pigeons flying, which literally poop on the dogs and inside of where the dogs are kept. I saw dead mouse inside one of the dogs cabin. so one portion of where the dogs beds are and where they sleep is extremely warm but the other side, where they usually go the bathroom is freezing cold, I mean, literally I was shaking while wearing the heaviest jacket on earth so just imagine when the dogs have to use the bathroom. now walking down the hallway the lights were not working, and it looked like the scene of a horror movie, poor dogs have no light in that section. lastly, when they just walk the dogs they have NO sweaters on them and mind you I went on the coldest weekend that we’ve had for 10 years and it was 5° out. Overall, I was truly disgusted but I have to say the dogs all seem healthy and properly fed food since they none of them looked malnourished.”
“The mission at PAWS to help elderly/disabled individuals keep their pets by providing fostering, vet transport, dog walking and litter maintenance. Most of these people have had their animals for quite a number of years, so you're not going to get kittens and puppies if that's what you're after. This organization is an amazing testimony to how having an animal as a companion can sustain someone even in the midst of a diagnosis. Orientation is done via Zoom, so you don't have to leave your home and volunteering here can be very fulfilling.”
“This store is amazing! Always a great selection, super low prices, and the staff is incredibly sweet. Made a few purchases a few days ago and they let me know the profits that day were going to breast cancer awareness. Love their mission!”

I’ve been a fan of the competition for ages, but Ive never had so much fun watching it (it’s actually not as much fun right at the Eurovision arena). Everyone was so nice and welcoming, I truly felt at home! Thank you!”
“The Clemente isn't just a space; it's a cultural landmark that's been fueling the arts scene in the LES (Loisaida) for over three decades, standing tall as a pillar of Puerto Rican and Latinx pride.
The Clemente is a microcosm where the city's energy is channeled into a celebration of diversity, with every performance and workshop echoing different communities and experimentation. This place is serious about giving a voice to BIPOC artists, offering them not just a stage, but a supportive springboard. The programming is brilliant. From thought-provoking film screenings to electrifying live gigs, as New York as it gets. It's a stone's throw away from the F train Delancey stop. the building itself is an architectural jewel. an open labyrinth. They seem to have some of those amazing spaces available for rent.”
“I love Times Up!!! Bike repair overseen by very helpful and experienced volunteers. All donation based for payment and they help you understand how your bike works and let you fix it yourself if you want. Highly recommend them!”

“What an incredible experience with Mantena employees. Ju helped me and advised me what I should do to be able to take my mother's ashes to Brazil. With it I got a password for the Itinerary Consulate and everything went well. When I was there, I noticed people passing by and collecting food from boxes at the entrance of the agency.
